I got this pullover late this ski season after realizing that the Cascades are super cold and wet and my Nano Puff wasn't up to the challenge. I'd been lusting after this and when it went on sale, I snagged it in a Medium. I'm super pleased.
First off, it's very warm. Very, very warm. Enough to start sweating while skiing, enough to wear on it's own on a cold day hiking, enough to use as my main winter sweater. I layer it under a core-tex thinsulate shell for skiing and that's almost uncomfortably warm!
I love that the kangaroo pocket is insulated in the front and the back. That way you can warm your hands without exposing the inner patch of pocket to the elements. Perfect.
I love the hidden pocket inside the chest. It's deep and has a hidden zipper- hiding my dollars for sure!
The sleeve gaskets are tight but that works well for skiing. I can't comfortably bunch the sleeves up to my elbow but when I need an 850fp coat I rarely do that.
The hood can fit under my helmet and has elastic so it stays put.
It is fitted. It took me a few tries to get into how it fits but it's very flattering. The seams make me look feminine while being able to move comfortably. And it's long! It covers most of my butt- love that! It doesn't fit like a regular sweatshirt or pullover- it's definitely form-fitting.
All in all, I'd give it 4.5 stars because the warmth and fit are really nice. I take away a half-star because it is a little tight around the mid-section, but it still looks and feels good.
I brought it on a trip back to CA and my mom fell in love! I ordered my mom a L; I have a M. We're both totally into it! I'm trading in my nano puff for sure.
