Familiarity: I've used it several times

The boot itself was comfortable, and the three different zones made it easy to get it snug and stiff. The problem is that the lacing locks are all flimsy plastic and not at all up for the task of holding the laces down. Ironically they're called something like "Sure Lock", which couldn't be further from the truth. Especially the side locks kept slipping up on me, causing me to have to re-tighten it every two-three runs. On the fourth day I had them the whole casing for one of the locks cracked, making me have to send them back. They should simplify the whole mechanism, it's a bad combination of flimsy and complicated.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

First product review ever, I had to balance out the silly other one here. The gasket on mine did pop out once, but the company sent me a replacement and it hasn't happened since. I have the 18 and 40 oz versions and have been using them every day for a two or three years. This is the best quality water bottle I've come across. No liners, chipping paint, or supposedly safe plastics, with this model the water only touches food grade stainless steel and a little bit of silicone with the gasket.

These things soak up water, no matter what kind of water proofing you use. Even in 20 degree weather you'll end up with cold, wet hands in 3-4 hours time.

I could tolerate them being soaked all the time, and even the metal logo on top of the glove that'll scrach up your face when you try to wipe your nose, but when the leather ripped in the palm after 5 days on the mountain I'd had enough.

The fit and construction is great, but the materials doesnt hold up.

I've worn Hestra gloves and mittens since I was a kid (I'm from Norway), but these were disappointing.
