Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I rarely get too cold or too hot in the Nano Puff. It's very versatile for temperatures from about 15-50 F. With layers I've used it comfortably to zero. It sheds wind but breathes when it needs to and is water resistant. It stuffs to a very small size in its own pocket and weighs very little.

This is not my first Nano Puff jacket. It has been redesigned with a slimmer fit for 2013. If I weren't skinny, I would not like the new design. Medium fits me but I'm 6-0 with a 32 inch waist. If I was shorter or much heavier, the sleeves would be too long and the torso too narrow.

Heavy folks need not apply, unless they have long arms and go for the larger sizes.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I'm slim and tall, so ordered a medium but had to return it. I found the shoulders and chest area to be too small, yet I wouldn't want the waist or mid section to be any larger. It seems like the center section bulges out, so I guess I'd prefer a more tapered fit.

I also didn't like the color, bright navy, but that's probably just an old age thing. Most of the bright-colored jackets sold today seem too loud, and the only low key options are gray and black.

Otherwise, it seems like a well-made vest. An interior pocket might be nice but not a big deal.

I use these pants for winter hiking. When I'm active in temps from 25-40F, they're right with just lightweight long johns. Colder temps require more insulation. The pants seem to breathe well, yet stop the wind. They resist water nicely as I can sit in the snow for several minutes without getting wet. Sizing was correct.

I would prefer a slightly more tapered leg. They won't go on/off without removing boots so might as well be tapered a little more. Six pockets are nice but I wish one or two of them had a zipper or velcro closure. The pocket over-flaps don't seem secure enough for car keys or wallet, but nothing has fallen out yet.

Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase.

I like the fabric and the weight and could be happy with these knickers if only they were longer. My problem is that I'm thin and six feet tall. The medium (which is a little large for my 32 waist size) isn't long enough to stay comfortably below my knees. The fabric rides up to where my knees are exposed more than they should be in a cold breeze. Needs to be about three inches longer.

I would recommend these for shorter guys who are looking for an unpadded cycling knicker for cool weather.
