This is one of Jansports best packs. I've been skiing and backpacking since I was 10, now I'm 50, you do the math. I always thought Jansport was only trying to make a fashion statement with their gear, until now. This pack is very well made and has lots of zippered pockets and places inside for keys, pens, maps, ETC. It even has a removable pocket on the shoulder harness for a cell phone, GPS unit, sunscreen or sunglasses, ETC. One of the best things is it's designed for wide variety of Playtpus hydration packs. Although the hydration pack is optional it's well worth the $25 or so it costs. The seams and zippers are well sewn there are lots of outside straps for extra gear. The wide waist band, chest strap and shoulder harness are very comfortable. If it wasn't comfortable, I'd be bitchin about it right away! With 2000 cubic inches inside, there's plenty of room for extra clothing and stuff. Remember, I'm an old guy and old guys always carry a bunch of extra junk! Since I live, work and hike in Colorado above 10,000 feet, I like the idea of no metal frame. Colorado is second only to Florida for lighting strikes so at least I don't have to drop the pack while I hide out from a bolt of lightning! Trust me, buy it, you'll like it! Trooper John
