Tom Murphy's Bio

I learned to ski on the arctic blue ice of Whiteface while working at NYSEF. During that time, I was fortunate to be surrounded by some of the best coaches and junior athletes in the US, which as shaped my perception of skiing to this day. And while I am no longer on the hill 120 days a year, I did make the move to Park City to be in the mountains. Livin' the dream and happy to have swapped the blue ice for fluffy powder.

During those unfortunate months when there is no snow, you can find me out exploring Utah - hiking and mountain biking.

Honestly, why it has taken me years before breaking down and purchasing boot cut thermals is beyond me. Every year I said I would get some and cursed all year that I didn't.

It's smartwool so the quality is top notch. Only ding I am giving it is I am a 35" waist and the Large do not feel tight enough in the waist. Everything else fits great, just that. I layer up enough that it is not a big deal, but it is noticeable putting them on.

Bought this as an underlayer for touring and what not. Skied a few powder days with a baselayer, this jacket and a shell - was super comfortable. Soft, breathable, perfect cut on the neck/hood.

Will write more after a few more wearings if something seems off, but honestly not expecting to have issues.

I've worn this top several times. Used it as a base layer for a hike recently and it kept me warm and dry. Washed it and wore it again for a bike ride into town. Washed it again (it washed well and keeps it's shape) and wore it again as a base layer for luge training. A great purchase and a great fit.

I have ridden around 200 miles on these and honestly love them. But, if you are someone who really wants your shoe to be super snug , this might not be the shoe for you.

Find myself getting close the the max velcro and ratchet strap. Hopefully I will not experience any more stretch on the system, but if I do I will probably order a new pair one size down. Yeah, I like them that much - comfy when riding, those sad hike a bike times and walking around the truck getting ready to roll.

Was looking for something small and simple with a laptop sleeve - nothing fancy. Wanted it to have the least amount of straps, loops, pockets, buckles and snaps. Minimalism was the selling point.

All I need it to do is allow me toss in my computer and a jacket, then be comfortable so I can bike to work. This bag fits the bill.

Bonus is the huge outer pouch. Was not thrilled at first but honestly it is pretty awesome. Easy holds a HydroFlask, or a Nalgene and quite possibly a 40 oz.

Easily holds my boots, a layer or two, helmet, googles and gloves in the main compartment. It is my go to rally bag that I toss in the truck before heading out. At the end of the day I don't care about putting the snow covered boots back inside since it has the drain holes.

More pockets, zippers and pouches than you will ever use. I keep finding all sorts of things I stuffed in them when I first got it.

Note: This sucker is big. If you are looking for a carry-on or you will only need to carry a jacket and hat, this is not for you. But if you are like me and can never decide what to bring to the mountain and end up packing half of what you own, then this is the bag for you.
