Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

What is the best camera bag for me? I think all photographers have asked that question a time or two. Having used the standard black ballistic nylon bags from various makers I can tell you that they were not fitting in with our active lifestyle in Okinawa, Japan. We like to walk to the beach to photograph the sunset then trek through Japanese gardens to use a macro lens on the cool exotic flowers and bugs. The Flipside sport 20 AW gets it done. It is a technically oriented backpack that feels great on your back. The straps are breathable and cut like a professional pack. The side pockets and straps have plenty of room for your non-photographic gear. The tripod attachment system is money, no slip-sliding around or making you a double wide. I like that the entry to the camera section is on the back. When the rain fly is on you set the pack down to get out your rig and the waterproof fly is on the ground not the part of the pack that will go back on your back. This guy has room for lots of gear. We take our whole kit and there is room to expand. If you are a more active photographer consider the Flipside Sport 20 AW, you will not regret it.

I am not sure how prevalent RFID scanning con artists are, but I do not want to find out. We bought the Pacsafe RFID Passport Protector for our vacation to Thailand. It was big enough to hold four passports and our credit cards easily. The material is soft and it fits easily into most bags or purses. We bought ours in black and it does not look too flashy. Not sure if it has stopped any identity thieves, but we are glad to have it.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought four of these to put in our family GO bags. I tried it on and the strap did a good job of holding the light in place. The light is light weight and turned on when I tested it. This will not replace your usual headlamp, but is a great backup or emergency light. We hope to never have to use ours, but I do have piece of mind knowing they are there and ready to go if needed. This piece of gear would be a great addition to your emergency kit.

Fit: True to size

I had to have a goat shirt. I ordered mine in Olive Heather and was surprised by how soft it was. I am 6'3" and weigh 180lbs and a medium fits great. It is a nice trim fit without being fitted.i usually wear it with jeans, but it looks great with shorts too. I have yet to put it through the wringer, but I predict many happy goat wearing days in the future.

Fit: Runs small

These Kuhl shorts feel great. The material is soft and stretchy and the active cut moves with you and does not bunch up or restrict your movement. The lightweight vented mesh internal pockets keep your stuff where you want it. They are a technical short, but look good enough to double as a casual short. This short is cut slight more slim than other Kuhl shorts I have bought, but not enough to where I had to return them, so if you are on the cusp of a size perhaps consider ordering a size up. I like these shorts and was glad to add them to the rotation.

I am so glad that I discovered ExOfficio Give-N-Go boxers. The fabric is very soft and breathable. They fit equally well under jeans and shorts. Once you tuck them in place the smooth material slides with your pants and does not bunch up. The material wicks moisture to keep you cool and dries in an instant. The waist band keeps them in place without digging into your skin or leaving marks. I used to be a boxer-brief guy, but these boxers have caused me to switch. I am 6'3" and weigh 180lbs with a 32" waist and the medium fits perfect. You can wash them in the sink and they will be dry by morning, or they can double as sleep shorts, either way you save space in your bag. Whether you are traveling or out for adventure, these boxers will not let you down.
