I was looking for a stretchy glove liner that can hold up against minor wind and temps down to 30. these gloves are pretty good against wind, and i can only imagine it performing well into the 30s, since i haven't had them long enough to test it in that condition. but they are not stretchy like the midweight glove liners from BD, which are great for doing detailed work while keeping your digits warm. these gloves are not good for tasks like lighting a stove, openning the Mountainhouse pouch, or even turning on headlamps (i had troubles)

this is almost an age old argument, synthetic vs down. i have a 40, 20, and looking for a 0 degree bag. my 40 and 20 bag are both synthetic, 'cause i use them in warmer weather, and have more chances of getting wet in rain. but my 0 degree bag has to be down, because i'll only use it when temperature is below freezing, which makes snow more likely than rain, and lower humidity. i'll keep it in a dry bag stuff sack, just in case. the only thing i would worry about is the condensation over night, but if the temperature is low enough, they will just turn into ice on the side of your tent instead of falling water drops onto your down bag.

i just got my utopia 2 with a floor. and i'm trying to develope a good method of setting it up. anybody out there care to share a quick setup that won't damage the fabric? i currently set the poles in one end then try to erect the poles while i'm inside the tent, then secure poles with velcro. and this can be quite a challenge sometimes.

I love it! I took it on a 4 day trip on Cumberland Island off Ga coast on labor day weekend. It was pretty hot and humid on the island, and the bugs were out with a vengeance. i threw this shirt on while at camp so i won't get eaten alive by mosquitoes (bug spray did not stop them at all), and i was suprised that i wasn't overheating in it. when we hiked 8 miles on the beach, i wore this shirt to keep from getting sunburn, with the sea breath, it felt great in this shirt. i did, however, get caught in a tropical downpur while i was on a short day hike on the beach, and this shirt was the only thing i was wearing (i had pants and shoes of course), i got soaked from head to toe, but it only took 10 mins for this shirt to dry up. i love this thing, i will be using it all the time!
