Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
as an avid rider of products from the union binding company, i would like to give some defense to the force, as it is one of the many union bindings i own. a lot of reviews say the toe straps are hard to unbuckle. this is true, but the difficulty is *greatly* reduced when the binding is properly adjusted to fit the boot.
to do this, you must have an equal amount of toe and heel hang so that the foot is centered on the binding. this involves adjusting the heel cup, sliding it in or out slightly. second, you must adjust the heel strap so that it is also centered over the boot. same with the toe strap. when the straps are centered over the boot, you will have about an inch of ladder strap exposed when they are fully tightened. having this amount of ladder strap exposed is what keeps the buckles from jamming. it's a minor flaw with the force bindings and is resolved in the 2014 model.
