These boots are very comfortable. They fit of these boots are great. My feet tend to be a normal width neither wide or narrow. These boots to have large ankle cups. I would definatly suggest trying these boots on before purchasing as I have noticed that Black Diamond boots tend to fit differently. I have not had any problems with these boots after a long and hard season of use. The touring mode in these boots are great. They offer a large range of motion which is great for touring. Also being a ski instructor a great walk mode is always a benefit when you are working in your boots all day. I really like the replaceable soles of these boots. I don't have to worry about wearing down the soles since I will be able to replace the soles once they do wear out. The BOA system is great and offers a tight fit. I have never had a problem with cold feet in these boots either. They have a wool foot bed in between the liner and the shell. In addition to a aluminum reflective coating underneath the foot bed. Over all these are really comfortable and solid boots for the price. Some people have experienced problems with the walk mode. However as along as you keep the allen bolt tight you won't have any problems. Also this problem is known to occur on older models. They have since fixed the walk mode on 2010 and newer models.

The beam on this headlamp is bright enough for most tasks. This headlamp also allows you to dim the light in either the beam or ambient light mode. It also features red light for reading maps at night. The best feature of the headlamp is that you can recharge it off of usb. The headlamp includes three rechargeable AAA batteries. You can charge this headlamp off of your computer before the trip or even solar panels with a usb hook up during expeditions. Overall it is a great all around head lamp for the price.

I was surprised at just how bright this light can be. It is great for keeping the tent lit or for cooking in the dark. The flash light ability is nice if you need to find your way around camp. Overall it is a Bright light for the price and weight.

This is a great bomb proof shovel. It offers and extendable shovel that helps give you a little more leverage when excavating. A light and versatile shovel from BCA that does a great job of digging a pit or your buddy out in an emergency.

These knee pads offer a tight fit that will ensure they don't move around. These pads I have noticed to tend to run slightly small. The protect these pads offer are top notch. The foam in the pads feel like memory foam. The foam become softer and more movable as they heat up from your body heat. They absorb and impact really well insuring your knees will be safe. My only complaint is that these don't vent heat all that well. The back of the knee is covered as well which can make these pads very hot and sweaty in middle of summer. However, It seems to be a trade off for full protection. You can't beat the safety and quality of a POC product. I have owned numerous POC products in the past and have yet to be disappointed.

This is a great lightweight helmet that offers more protection than a normal bike helmet. Can't beat the safety and quality of a POC product. It is super comfortable to wear with great venting. Great cinch mechanism on the back of the helmet to provide a tight fit. Great helmet with an Enduro look.

This saw is super sharp, strong, and durable. This saw has a sharp blade for cutting pits or anything else that gets in its path. The nice thing about this saw is that it will attach to the end of your trekking pole to extent the handle. It has easy to read 30 cm markings that are engraved as well as a large Black diamond Logo. It gets the job done for a good price and is a great tool to have in the backcountry.

The best feature about this pack is that it is able to stow into its own pocket. This makes for a super storable pack. It makes for a great day pack when backpacking or even a great pack for the hike into the crag. It is made out of a bomb proof material that with stands abuse well. The back is a great size and doest bunch up. The pack features compression straps which are great for cinching down your load to prevent sag or even doubling as a sleeping bag stuff sack.

Fit: True to size

This is really solid and warm jacket. The jacket is made out of 800 fill goose down which gives it a great warmth to weight ratio. The jacket has a durable pertex surface that is abrasion and water resistant. The jacket also folds into its pocket for better packability. Its a great feature to have as it makes it easier to sow in your pack until you need it. All in all it is a top notch down jacket from The North Face.

Great preforming skins! They provide great grip everywhere around the Lake Tahoe Basin. They haven't had a problem with even the wet and heavy spring snow here in Tahoe. I have not had a problem with these skins yet. They are super easy to trim and maintain. Another solid Black Diamond product.

These are a great overall binding. The provide great performance at the resort and in the backcountry. They are on the heavier side of the touring binding spectrum but offer killer frontside performance. I haven't had a problem with these bindings yet. They are build really well and feel solid under foot. My only cons are the weight of the binding and the fact that you must remove the binding to switch between modes. Overall a solid binding for the best of both worlds.

After using this pump on a few trips I have come to love it. The ceramic filter does a great job of filtering out everything. The carbon core does a great job of making the water tasteless. I have come to love the ability to screw you wide mouth Nalgene or Camelbak bottle onto the bottom of the pump. My only grip so far has to be there pump speed. It doesn't filter water very quickly; however, it seems to be a trade off for the durable ceramic filter. This pump is super easy to maintain in the field. It is easy to clean the filter to restore your pump rate. It is also easy to take apart and maintain with no tools required. All in all this is a solid pump for multiple day trips into the backcountry. Another solid product from MSR.

This is a great overall cook set. It offers great flexibility at a reasonable weight. It have used it on a few backpacking trips with a larger group. The pot is a great overall size. The frying pan is also nice for car camping or even one night backpacking trips where weight is not a concern. The bugaboo finish is a great overall durable finish. The non stick coating works great as well. The mugs/bowls are alright. The bowls are really narrow and deep which makes for a little harder cleaning and eating. I would rather use a different more comfortable bowl if I am car camping. The mugs are a great size and the lids snap on tight. I only wish the sipper was in the middle rather than in the corner since it is a little awkward to drink out of. The case does a great job of packing everything together. It is water tight and does hold water and can be used as a sink. Overall this is a great gourmet camp cook set.

This is a very warm and light weight fleece. I plan on wearing this fleece on cold winter days and as a base layer under my ski jacket. I pair this fleece with my Marmot Rom jacket for a nice little combo to climb in. The thumb holes are very useful to help prevent the sleeves from riding up when climbing or skiing. I ordered the small and the sleeves are a great length but I with the waist was a tad bit longer. Over all I am very pleased with this fleece.
