Yes, we finally got some 'der here in March and I got these puppies out. They float nicely and handle crud/groomers too. I've carried them in the backcountry as well. They are pretty light for a fatter ski, and they performed well in variable conditions there. Liberty makes quality, innovative gear.

It's true that the fit is off. I wear 44's and the XL fits perfectly.

These are very warm and easy to get on and off, even over the big old Shimano clips I have. Velcro back is a big plus.

Seems like they keep my feet dry when riding on wet roads. I wouldn't expect them to keep me dry in a rainstorm.

I had these for 1 1/2 seasons before they pulled out of my Rossi Ravyns and the metal of the toe plate snapped in two. The heel throws are made of brittle plastic that cracked on both bindings. I noticed the cartriges loosening on a daily basis, making me check them nearly every time. I wasn't cranking all that hard when they pulled out of the ski. Going to try to get them repaired, but I think I'll get Hammerheads next time. They do ski and tour very well, but it sounds like the Axls do too...

For the price, these are a great binding. I have the midstiff cartriges, which tour well and seem to have plenty of power for the downhill.

I think the only problem is that BD is now trying to market them as a touring-only binding. I'd say it's better suited for 50% inbounds and 50% out-of-bounds.

They seem to be about 100 times more durable than the G3 Targas. I have been skiing them for three years now and have not had any failures.

The cartridges to loosen relatively easily. But, it sounds like this is a problem with all of the BD bindings.
