Steven Rozendaal's Bio

I was born and raised on the slopes of Vermont and moved to Utah in 1991 to ride powder. In 1999 I start my own production company and documented the freeski movement until 2010. Now I am excited to get into the mountains with my wife and young son. I continue to have a passion for photography and film. In the summers, I like hiking with my family and skateboarding whenever possible. Now that I work for BC.com I hope to get into mountain biking as well.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am just starting out and have little to compare these pedals to but I have enjoyed them. I was worried about not being able to get out of them but that fear went away the first day. I use them for both road and dirt. when I ride around the block with my kids and I don't have my clip less shoes on I wish for a little more surface area but that is my only objection. Overall a very solid pedal.

I just started riding and these shoes were recommended. I have put over 250 miles on them and climbed over 30,000 vert and I really like them. The ratchet is great for getting them snug and getting the most out of each pedal stroke. I have rode them in one rail storm and my feet stayed pretty dry. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and would encourage bikers that are just starting out to get these.

Safety first! I ride my road bike in Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons and this light does a great job of letting traffic know you are there. It is important to use it with good riding technique. Stay on or near the white line, if you are to far off the road it is more difficult to see you. I only use the solid light option as I feel the blinking light is more of a distraction to drivers. I would recommend this light.

Fit: True to size

I just got into biking and was worried about being sore. These shorts were recommended and so far they have been great. It usually takes about an hour of riding before I feel any soreness. I have ridden in both hot and cooler temps and they have worked great. I have nothing to compare them against but I would recommend them to bikers just starting out.

I have a 4 year old son and he uses this shoe for everything. From hiking to biking and even rock climbing this shoe does it all. The pull lace makes it easy for him to put on and so far they have held up great. Exactly what I have come to expect from TNF.
