Steven Jones's Bio

I love to wake up and get a workout in before the sun rises. There is nothing like getting a head start on the day. I love hiking the many trails of the Wasatch mountains any time of year.

I picked these up for something to workout in on cooler days, but they are so comfortable I find myself wearing them more often. The Lycra mixed in with the merino adds some durability and stretch while keeping the great attributes of merino. They don't stink, dry quickly, and will not freeze when wet. Great pants!

These pants are a great addition to a wardrobe. From the office, to the wild, to jumping on an airplane they will get it done. The merino/cotton blend gives it great durability and it won't stink. Dries quickly. One caveat, the inseam is a tad short. Great for me at 5'9". Not great for the taller people out there.

These pants are so nice for hanging out around the house, and can even get some play around town, if you can pull off the casual sweatpants look. The merino is soft and warm, with a 260 g/m weight, which is just right for good warmth without being too much.

The fit on these is larger than most of the Icebreaker pieces I own. I went a size smaller than normal and it fits well. Recommended.

This robe is better than anything I've come across. The wool is warm and soft, and the cut is classic. Get this for yourself, then pass it on to your favorite child. Or get more so you don't have to play favorites.

I like to use the Nomad 7 to charge my phone and portable music device. It does a good job of keeping the charge level where I need it on sunny day, but does not do as well on cloudy days or where the sunlight is dim. There are larger panels that do that. I just attach the Nomad 7 to my backpack or the top of my daughter's carrier and we're off. Good stuff.

Pendleton makes a great line of shirts. The classic Board shirt has been around for a long time and has the classic surfer look, but the Sir Pendleton is just as nice for the office bunch. The soft wool will keep you looking your best as you move from the office to the great outdoors and hold up to the roughest use. Recommended.

Before they were the Beach Boys they were the Pendletones, so named because of this very shirt. This shirt has been around for a looong time, and it has great classic style.

The wool is soft and warm and it can be worn buttoned to the top, unbuttoned with your favorite shirt, or either way with the sleeves rolled. Let your imagination run wild!

I picked up the Guide 10 Recharger in order to have a little juice for my phone when my solar panel wasn't getting any sun. It works well with the Nomad 7 solar panel, but probably my favorite thing about the Guide 10 is that I can fully charge it at home with a USB adapter and have a good amount of juice to start my adventure. Recommended.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift

I picked up the merino Z Suit as a gift for dear old mom a while back. I asked her what she thought of it, and she loved it.
I should first explain that she is never warm. She spends loads just to keep her house at a temperature that she is comfortable with. (While the rest of us swelter.)
With the Z Suit she doesn't feel the need to keep the heater quite so high, bringing relief to both her wallet and the rest of us. Recommended.

Someone referenced their Reefs and I have to agree. The Sole sandals are good, but the straps are so wide that if one has feet that are even a bit wider than normal they won't be comfortable.
Now, they do start to feel a bit better with wear, but nothing like my reef that were comfortable right out of the box.

I picked up the Paraframe to save weight. It's a decent knife and does the job in most cases, but it's not perfect.
It needs sharpening more than other knives I own with similar price points and the locking mechanism started needing a little extra help after a few uses, so it could be dangerous to someone in a hurry.
