Shawn's Bio

Love skiing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking and pretty much any outdoor activity. Recently I have really gotten into running rivers and have also just started to get back into running following some knee surgeries.

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size

This is my second pair of Olukai's and they are comfortable and long lasting. My first pair I still have and they're going on two years of pretty consistent use.

I just wanted a nice slip on shoe and these fit the bill. Great casual shoes that will keep your feet feeling good if you're on them all day.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size

I bought these for use post surgery. I had patellar tendon repair and after two weeks they removed the TED hose they put on. After removing these there was significant swelling in the ankle foot and lower calf area. I used these to provide compression as well as circulation to move the swelling out. Within about 6 hours my foot ankle and calf had returned to their normal size.

Once I'm healthy again I can't wait to try these out for mountain biking. I have a Men's size 11 foot and the Large worked perfectly.

These bib knickers have proven to be well made and durable. They have a nice Chamois in them as well. They will fit true to their sizing chart. They are comfortable for mid range temperatures from about 55 to 70 degrees max. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a solid pair of bibs.

This works as well as Stan's but is more of a pain to when it comes to cleaning up. I bought this as I was trying a tire that wasn't compatible with Stan's. The cafe latex sets up and dries much quicker which is good and bad but I wouldn't say it seals any better or worse. I got a large puncture in the tire I was using and the cafe latex sprayed all over my hub, chainstays and chain guide. This dried and was a pain to get off. Furthermore it got all over the back of my calf removing a large amount of hair. All things being equal, I'd choose Stan's which scrubs or wipes off easily as opposed to spending time peeling dried rubber out of nooks and crannies.

These work as advertised and are a light weight, not too hot, trail knee pad that can be worn where climbing may be involved. The padding on the knee is small and a little suspect. Fortunately, I haven't had to test these yet. I'm concerned about their ability to stay in place during a fall.

I just switched back to these after being on Crank Brothers Mallets. The first thing I can say is the retention and release system on Shimano pedals is superior. I went with the mallets for trail all mountain use due to the large platform, however the cage on the XT Trail pedals has provided me with similar feel. I also feel like these pedals are more durable than the crank brothers.

I put a 2.4 on the front and rear of my Santa Cruz Nomad C. I ride mainly in the Park City area and these tires have been great from anything tacky to dry somewhat loose trails. These would not be a good tire for mud but that's not what it's designed for. They have a low rolling resistance.
