Shawn Craig's Bio

Love skiing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking and pretty much any outdoor activity. Recently I have really gotten into running rivers and have also just started to get back into running following some knee surgeries.

I gave this bike to my girlfriend as a present and she loves me even more now! She loves the one x, it has also made her faster. If you need to put a water bottle cage on it the cables get in the way a bit so make sure to get a cage that is not a side loader. We had the best luck using a very basic Bontrager Bottle cage.

Just tried this for the first time in super dusty conditions. It worked great, quickly cleans your chain and kept my drive train running quiet in some pretty nasty dusty/sandy conditions.

In the past I've been partial to Progold Extreme but I'm pretty sold on the Rock N Roll Extreme now. I highly recommend this. It's very resistant to picking up contaminants and it kept my chain looking clean.

First, this cooler does an excellent job. I've taken in on several three to four day camping trips and it holds ice for days without an issue. The design makes it easy to carry and move as well as pack in the car without taking up a lot of room.
The only refinement would be to make it easier to get things in and out of the zip top. The zipper opening is a bit tight.
Other than that this cooler operates exactly as advertised.

I spend a good bit of time on my bike and I prefer to cover my skin from the sun as opposed to using sun screen. These offer great sun protection for long rides and they do not feel hot. They are quick drying and cool well.

I kind of wish I had gotten the 14 but this is a pretty solid roof box. It closes securely and fits enough stuff. I have this on a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek with factory cross bars. It fit without any issues. It gives me enough room to keep the back seats clear during car camping/mountain biking trips.

Construction is quality.

This bag has quite a bit of room. I bought this as a gift for my Girlfriend and she likes it. She reads a ton and often is carrying three to four books. This bag comfortably accommodates her books, her Mac Book Air, sunglasses case, wallet and water bottle with plenty of room. Further, the bag is well made as with most Timbuk2 products.

I'm not certain the issue that the one poor review has had but I have used this with no issues. I used this to attach a dropper post lever to carbon bars and also for the seat post on the dropper in the seat clamp as recommended by manufacturer specs. Everything was torqued accordingly and it has been working as advertised with no issues or damage.

I have never had an issue with Park Tool items and they know bikes.

If you're looking for a very well made bomber bike glove this is it. These are made very sturdy and have light padding on the palm. Sizing is true and if you click on the link, they have a printable hand sizer. Also, if you currently own any Hestra gloves, check the size on them and it will translate to these. They have a great absorbent thumb for wiping away sweat and for your nose. My only concern is that they are sort of thick and might be warm on hot days. I've only ridden with them this spring and max temp has been not much more than 70 degrees.

From bike shoes to ski boots, I don't have a wide foot per se but my foot tends to be higher volume. These shoes are great and give the room I need.

This is my second pair of Cove HV and I love that Giro has finally come around to a Vibram Rubber sole and has added rubber reinforcement to areas of the shoe (heel, toe, and along the lower edge where the upper meets the sole). The EC70 soles are plenty stiff for my liking.

My previous pair last 3 years and I expect with the upgrades these will last twice as long.

I had a pair of Code HV from few years ago. They were fantastic. This one has some significant updates, the best of which is the vibram sole. No more slipping on rocks. Also, they have added some rubber pieces to genaral high wear areas such as the toe and then along specific places where the sole

I seem to fall between the regular sizing and the HV (high volume) sizing with Giro. I have generally opted for the HV option for more comfort. I don't generally have a wide fit in other footwear. I do notice in Ski boots I generally benefit from a 100+ mm last.

I'm sure these as great as the HV. If you have issues with these feeling tight or narrow give the HV a shot.

I tried these and really wanted them. Unfortunately, they are slightly too narrow for my feet. First, they are clearly well made. They come with an shoe bag, cleats and cleat wrench as well as the Giro standard interchangeable arch supports.
They look great and the laces feel great. I only wish they made this in an HV version like they do the code.
If you're worried about what to do with the laces, each shoes has an elastic lace holder on the tounge.
I can attest to how they ride but if they're anything like other Giro shoes, I'm sure they're great.
