Shawn Craig's Bio

Love skiing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking and pretty much any outdoor activity. Recently I have really gotten into running rivers and have also just started to get back into running following some knee surgeries.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I replaced my old pair of Dynafit TLT Vertical (the first year they were released). So better performance on bindings should be expected at this point. These are great. I feel like there is a solid engagement and they ski well. I've used them both in bounds and touring and they have a very ensuring feel to them.

Only cumbersome issue is the need to remove skis to go from ski to tour mode and vice versa. You can get them into ski mode from tour mode without removing, but it's cumbersome and just seems easier to remove the ski.

Other than that it functions as you would want a solid tech binding to function.

I bought these to replace a pair of Soul 7s. I have these mounted as a touring ski with G3 Ion 12 bindings. So far, I'm very happy with them. They have a nice even medium flex. They hold an edge well but aren't too unruly that you can't release and slarve a bit when necessary. They're very damp and handle hard snow, crud and powder without issue. As far as a touring ski goes, the weight isn't ultralight but probably fall towards the light end of the spectrum.

I bought these for running in cold weather. They work great for me. I've run in them from the mid 20s to 40 degrees and they have kept me warm. They have a soft inner material and I've had no issues with the seams chafing. They are slightly compressive.

I bought this for my girlfriend as she has a smaller head/face. The slim fit has been great for her and allows her to get a more comfortably snug fit with the buff.

A buff is an essential piece of gear for anyone who skis. It has so many uses. I use this as sun protection, protection from extreme cold, great for powder days. It can be worn to cover your whole face, has a head covering, etc. So many uses.

The current sale price on this can't be beat for the jacket/jersey your getting. If you're familiar it fit's tight like most Castelli items, but I found the size chart to be true to size for me. I just received it and did one ride with a long sleeve base layer and this jacket at 36 degrees. I was comfortable. If it were to dip below freezing, I would add another layer.

At first I really liked these. They fit great and sound quality is good. After less than 1 month owning these I have an issue where it appears that they either won't charge or simply won't turn on. They also generally have a much better range from the source than previous bluetooth headphones I've had. A quick internet search shows that this appears to be a very common issue. Shame on me for not checking first. I've contacted Jabra support and I guess we'll see what the final result is. Based on reviews it sounds like their support is great but the issue is recurring.

I recently broke my original Forefront helmet in a crash and replaced it with the MIPS version. It has all the great features of the forefront like sunglasses retaining system and excellent ventilation. But includes an internal MIPS chassis.

Highly recommend

I just replaced my lower bearing and race on a 3 year old mountain bike. This slid right in and works flawlessly. Immediately removed the creak that I had diagnosed. Cane Creek is currently making some of the best headset components out there.
