Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size

Like I wrote it in the review of Patagonia Merino 3 Midweight Zip-Neck Top, I wore this along with the base layer on my recent trip to the Grand Canyon. I knew that this would be light and not bulky at all during day hike, and it was very important when I was carrying a pack of 40 lbs plus for 3 nights and 4 days. I love this pullover because it is so light, very fitting and easy to put on and take off. No complaint whatsoever. And one of my fellow backpackers was impressed so much, she told me that she ended up ordering one for herself as well. I will put this on for any cooler temps.

I like the fact that it has a holder at the top. After filling the bottle with freshly filtered water, I don't always want to hold it by its body, and having the holder at the top is a good way to carry it around. Easy to use and no reason not to use it over and over again around the camp.

I put this on along with Patagonia R1 Fleece Hooded Pullover on my recent Grand Canyon trip. Since it was going to be cold at times and yet I didn't want to put on anything bulky, I decided to wear this with the other on top of it, and it worked out perfectly as I expected. In spite of the fact that it is a base layer, I didn't have any problem wearing it like a sweater, which fit perfect to my body. During 3 nights and 4 days of backpacking at the bottom of the Grand Canyon I put this on every day. I love the fact that it dries so quickly and feels so comfortable in it. Not much of weight also helps although I wore it while hiking every day, instead of carrying it in my pack, but along with Patagonia R1 Fleece Hooded Pullover, I seriously didn't have any problem on the trail.

Because I was backpacking in the bear country, I had to get a bear canister, and when it comes down to bear canisters, unfortunately we don't have many choices. Unless, of course, you customize one, which a friend hiker has done. Anyway, for me, this particular model works. No problem so far. Rather tricky to open it early in the morning when my hands are still cold. I used the end of a screw driver. It worked just fine. Perfect size for 2-3 day backpacking trips.

I needed this because I started SUPing this summer. So far so good. I have no complaints. If you're wondering, my SUP is 11'6 and it certainly holds it pretty well without tying the board with the string at the front.
