Sara's Bio

As a Colorado native it's in my blood to love playing outside! (And to love the Denver Broncos) I grew up skiing with my mom at Winter Park every Saturday and going to Bronco Games with my dad every Sunday. Classic Coloradan. I went to school at Western State in Gunnison, Colorado to study Journalism and to enjoy the beautiful Colorado mountains. I met my best, life long friends and my husband while enjoying ski days at Crested Butte and enjoying floating the Gunnison River in the summer. I now live with my husband in Denver and continue to play outside every chance we get. Now I have taken my love of the outdoors to my profession as a Sales Representative with Hi Altitude Sales and Consulting. We are your reps for Adventure Medical Kits, Cascade Designs, Granite Gear, PowerTraveller and Princeton Tec in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Utah and Nebraska.

The Vizz is feature-loaded with three distinct beam profiles easily accessed via a simple press, hold, or double press of the button.

One Maxbright LED (double press) creates a powerful 150 lumen spot beam for long-throw illumination, a pair of white Ultrabright LEDs (hold) deliver a dimmable flood beam, and two red Ultrabright LEDs (press) handle close-range lighting while preserving night adjusted vision.

As with all of PTEC Professional Series headlamps, the Vizz is waterproof (IPX7), equipped with regulated circuitry, and lithium battery compatible.

The BYTE headlamp puts out 50 lumens in a spot beam with its two-mode Maxbright LED. A red Ultrabright LED helps you keep a low profile and preserves your night adjusted vision. BYTE is stable with its asymmetrical single arm bracket and the power button is easy to find even while wearing gloves. A new battery lockout prevents accidental battery drain. BYTE runs for up to 146 hours in white mode on just two AAA alkaline batteries. This headlamp is also lithium battery compatible.

Perfect for Two Gals and a Box of Wine
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

My sister and I are backpackers who also enjoy car camping and this tent is perfect for both! It’s not super heavy or too big to carry if we split it between our packs and we can always find a small spot for it in the Subaru. We use the 3-person when car camping because we both love sleeping on the NeoAir Dream Therm-a-Rest pads and still have plenty of elbow room. (Or room for our many shoes, our box of wine, cards, headlamps…you get the idea) I also love that it comes with a rainfly and footprint. MSR has been building world class tents at the high end (Carbon Reflex series, Hubba series, Hubba HP series) for quite some time and I’m pumped that we finally have a high quality, feature rich tent at a more aggressive price point. This tent is perfect for car camping or for your first backpacking tent.

Platypus sent Canadian mountain bike racers Miranda Miller and Katrina Strand on a desert roadtrip to demo the new Platypus women's packs. Over the course of their trip they rode some of the better-known slickrock and singletrack trails in Moab, along with a few lesser-known features. Miranda is carrying the Siouxon, an All Mountain pack built to carry a full-face helmet, and Katrina is carrying the B-Line, a streamlined XC pack designed for long rides.
Watch Miranda Miller's review of the women's Siouxon all mountain pack:
