Sara Hutchinson's Bio

I love to play outside. The mountains keep me balanced and provide peace. Telemark skiing is my favorite. In the summer, I am a mountain biker. I love the Park City trails. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I have a great family - awesome husband, daughter Sadie & son Brewster. We all play outside....camp, hike, ski, bike. Fills me up.

I definitely feel cooler when I am wearing my Smith Serpico sunglasses. I have a smaller face and really like the Slim model. After about 2 months of owning them, the lens popped out. I sent them back to Smith and had a new pair in my mailbox in less than a week. I was very impressed. Love, love, love these shades!

Patagonia's Down Sweater Jacket is one of my most favorite piece of gear I own. I love the fit. I am 5'7 and generally wear a medium (size 8 or 10) The medium is a fantastic fit. It is a very warm jacket but not too puffy. I can wear it out to dinner or camping. It is very versatile. I swear by this jacket.

The Teva Dozer is a very easy sandal for little girls to put on. My three year old loves these shoes and wears them nearly everyday. She has a little bit of a wide foot and they fit great. I will worn you though to break them in gently. She experienced her first blister by wearing these sandals. After a few days wearing them, they broke in. They don't receive five stars though because the shoe lace frayed a litle bit in its first season. They dry quickly and are very practical.

I borrowed these skis from the Backcountry employee gear closet and had a BLAST on them. They were 168cm with G3 Targa Ascent bindings. I have been skiing on K2 Dawn Patrols and really enjoyed the extra width. They felt like water skis. SO fun. And I skied in about 12 inches of fresh snow and ripped every open bowl I could. Total blast. The following day when the powder wasn't as light & fluffy, they were harder to manage on the groomers in a tele turn. But if I kept them both on the snow, I was sturdy.
