Familiarity: I've used it several times

Right out of the box, it was love/hate. Love the length. Love that it fits perfectly under my Mountain Hardware Plasmic Rain Parka. Love the tiny little stuff sack that fits unobtrusively in the inner zip chest pocket. Love the two handwarmer pockets with their soft linings. Love that the fabric is a heck of a lot tougher than its light weight would lead you to believe - I have stuffed my cell phone and overstuffed wallet in the chest pocket and there are no poke marks. Love the length of the sleeves and the nice little hidden cuffs, which are real cuffs, not just edge binding.... So what's not to love? The COLOR. I ordered in both black and gray. Because of how shiny they are, both colors remind me of plastic garbage bags. The black more egregiously so. I hated the black, and eliminated it immediately. As for the gray - with its noticeable ripstop pattern, it is seriously the same color as duct tape. I considered returning it and holding out for better colors, I even got an RMA number - but everytime I tried to put it in the return box, I just couldn't do it. For one thing, that gray color just coordinates so well with so many other things I have. And the parka itself is so cozy without being too warm. So practical. Did I mention that the hood does not blow back off my head? And provides just the right amount of warmth? True, the size small is cut for someone with a slightly shorter torso than I have - the top of the waist definition baffles section comes up a little too high - but who looks that closely, anyway? (F64617435or reference, I am a little over 5'5", 127 pounds, 36C] So anyway, I finally realized I was never going to send this thing back and have been happily wearing it by itself in dry or drizzly weather, and under the Plasmic rain shell in downpours. I've been warm and dry, and having a lot of fun showing it off to my friends. (PS: runs about a size smaller in the chest than the 25" long ghost whisperer jacket]
