Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I'm a 42 yr old dad of 3 and a long time boarder - almost 20 years. I recently treated myself to an Arbor Roundhouse CX 167. I rode a Morrow Rail 160 with camber for 17 years, but I recently had to get larger boots which caused occasional heel and tow drag. I went with the Roundhouse for the increased waist width (good for my size 12 boots) and I went up to 167 hoping for increased high speed stability. When I'm alone for a bit and away from the kids, I prefer old school, simple GS-style riding/carving on medium to high speed blue groomers. That's what I did on my first day out with the roundhouse. I found it different and noticeably harder to ride at slower speeds, but I expected that. It's fast fast fast. Much faster than my previous board, which I kept perfectly tuned. It just wants to fly. Sequences of short technical turns required more effort than my previous board because of the rigidity and length, but once you open it up you can really feel the difference. It's sorta like a big german sedan. Not the most fun in the parking lot, but at high speed you still feel in complete control. This thing will be giving me smiles for a long time.
