West coast kid, living in the southeast
I used this in a variety of environments...in the garage working on the car/truck, in the house/office when power is out, and I've also used it on deployment. Only reason it doesn't get five stars is the lack of red filter (almost mandatory for military/tactical use). Great battery life and comfortable.
It's a nice piece, and certainly does the job. When compared to fleece/cashmere, it's a bit scratchy...not nearly as bad as full-on wool, but if you're at all sensitive to it you may want to think twice or be ready to exchange it. Otherwise, well made, nice and thick...do not see any problem with this lasting years.
I've had these for over a year, and they make a great primary glove. I use the liners when the weather gets cool, and the fingertips are sensitive enough to operate my iPhone and iPad without too much difficulty; they are a bit broad, so precision can be an issue...more than accurate enough to text and check emails. The outer liner is also great for wet/snowy weather. Highly recommend.
