I've had my Fox Flux for over three years now, and it is the only mountain biking accessory that has lasted. Needless to say, it's been used every ride, taken some serious beatings, and is still around to talk about it.
I can't begin to explain how many times this helmet has protected my head in a crash. Spill after crash this thing has held up. Invest the money in this helmet and you will be rewarded in the long run. Highly recommended.
I'm writing this review because I got back from a ride today in the heat, and I couldn't believe how well vented this short are! This pair of short is equipped with and amazing liner, and paired with the 4 vents keeps the boys nice and drafty. The material feels heavy duty but the shorts are very light weight, and there is a media pocket with a glasses wipe.
Bottom line, if you live somewhere hot and you ride in the heat, pick up these shorts. Compared to all my other mtb shorts these are by far my choice if the weather is 80+ degrees.
I've had these on my trail bike now for about 6 months. Although there was some cleaver engineering that went into these, the end result is only a decent crank. Don't get me wrong, there are very strong and look great but I wanted more.
The box comes with a BB tool for instalation, a t25 and t30 to install chain ring bolts, and a 8mm to tight the crank arm I think. A little over the top, but cool I guess if you have the room in your bike tool box. The no drive crank arm is held on by some weird triangle shaped thing, that for the most part keeps the crank squeak free and tight. However the concept is just different that whats currently on the market.
unfortunately the black anodized coloring is already fading off, and rocks chip the crank arms fairly easily. Don't expect these things looking new for to many rides.
Personally I think e-thirteen went a little over the top and made these a bit to fancy. I'm sure the next version will be vastly improved, and I am looking forward to the changes.
I moved up from Giro to 661 and now a POC. This is my favorite so far. Never was a fan of the TLD stuff and the POC line-up of stuff is top notch. This helmet is nothing less than awesome. Plenty of viewing space to see the trees coming at you, and the vents do there best to keep your melon cool. I've got my helmet paired up with the POC iris google and its a match made in heaven. If you are looking for a lightweight, no carbon lid go try one of these one, the are super comfy.
I love these goggles for the fact that they offer superior vision (compared to my oakley crowbars) and the lens offers great visibility in low light.
I hate the lens because it scratches so easily!!! I know its inevitable but these scratch super easy. very difficult to clean on the trail as well because the lens is so fragile.
If you can take care of your lens have have a POC helmet these are amazing. Don't get me wrong I still wear them with a scratched lens because they are amazing. I would highly recommend these goggles, I'm just warning you now, plan on the lenses getting scuffed.
This pair of short looks looks like the average pair of riding shorts. But what you can't see is how comfortable, durable, and well built these things are. At first I thought they were too nice for the trails, but after my first ride I fell in Love. There is a hint of a liner inside that help shed heat, paired with the mesh pockets does a great job cooling down the boys. The seat of the shorts are a durable material you would see on a DH short to shed mud and trail debris. The front is some kind of magic material that I still haven't figured out. It has amazing stretchy properties and sheds water. Its difficult to explain in words, but if its caught on your knee or seat or what have you, it has enough stretch to still allow range of motion. Another key feature that every other short messes up is the pockets, although there are only 3, one near the left knee, the other two in the standard position near the waist. However POC has made the pockets so that you easily can put you hand in the pocket with a glove on, without it getting caught. I can't begin to explain how many times i've had to take me glove off to reach in my pocket to grab a phone or a snack. Sounds kinda dumb, but the small things make huge differences. Needless to say, these shorts rock, pick up a pair for yourself and see what I'm talking about.
I purchased this set of wheels after I abused my stock dt swiss wheels that came on my Specialized Enduro. I was looking at some other wheelsets that were, well lets say a bit more burley. WIth only 24 spokes, compared to 32 on most seemed a bit on the weak side but has proven to be contrary. I've had these wheels for roughly 6 months now with close to a thousand trail miles and there holding up amazing. I'm tough on my wheels and this set have seen the worst drops, cased doubles, rock gardens, whips that didn't come back, roots and heavy mud and they still spin true and I haven't tensioned the spokes yet. Not to mention running tubeless the entire time with no issue loosing pressure or rolling the bead off the rim.
I would say the only downfall was that I ended up needing to buy centerlock rotors. Not a big deal, however if you are running avid brakes its tough to run anything but an avid centerlock. I ended up spending another $100 on rotors! That is why I'm giving these wheels 4 stars not 5. However all said and done, I've got a bombproof AM/FR/DH wheelset thats tubeless and has center lock rotors for the price of a decent set of wheels. Highly recommend from someone that abuses wheels. These things are surprisingly strong!
