Rafting vest

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my rafting vest. It is not a rescue vest, so if im running class 5 i switch to my beafy vest -astral aquavest- but for my guiding season this is my choice vest. super comfy, i dot find it bulky at all. It is a little high profile for hardshell kayaking. But rowing a gear boat or paddle captaining it is everything i want. Tons of pockets, i keep a wrap kit in my pockets, leatherman, knife, chapstick. And the clipping pocket on the chest is the perfect size for a can of beer on those private trips. It is easy to get on an off. You can keep it on when scouting rapids in the heat of the summer with fhe zipper undone, but the clips still zipped.

I bought this bag in December 2011. I have slept soooo many nights in this bag. The material is super soft, and i love that. But the biggest issue is the zipper! I like the short zippers, once i can get them open. As far as warmth performance it keeps me confortable to about 30, any colder than that and i add a bivy. I bought the conduit bivy by mountain hardware at the same time. They pair perfectly, and it is a proccess to get in an out of, but once im enclosed in my two bags, i can sleep confortably down to 10 degreeze. Im sure i would survive in this bag down to zero, but comfort stops around 20-30. I should also point out that i rarely sleep in a tent. So these temperatures are sleeping out. With a tent, everything changes.

I am a river guide in Oregon. This is my summer bag. I'm not back packing so it doesn't need to be feather light. I like the material, it feels soft against my skin but isnt so slick i think im gonna fall off my pad. The zipper is super easy to use, and rarely gets snagged, unlike my zero degree mountain hardware. I sleep confortably in 40-50 degree nights, and if it drops i add my bivy. I am surprised how much i have liked this bag, ive had it for two years and i sleep in my sleeping bag more than my bed. Two thumbs up.

I love the thumb hole feature and long arms. Usually my sweaters are too short in the arms for me. The hood is really weird. I think it's designed to go over a bike helmet. Had I known about the hood I may not have ordered it. But this is the perfect under another hoodie addition. The extra long sleeves and weird hood acually add just enough extra cover to make all my other short hoodies feel good. The hood actually comes over my eyes with out my hair up.

good for tall people

I am 5'7" and these were long on me. My favorite feature of these pants is the low waste and no elastic waste band. They don't cut into my big hips and don't ride too high. The legs are really long so I scrunch them up a little on my legs. That doesn't effect their performance, just makes them a little loose in the legs.

I love these shorts! I bought one pair at first. Then I bought three more. Just ordered 5 more pairs. I'm a raft guide and kayak instructor, so I wear synthetic material against my skin all day every day. These are my cure to boaters butt! They don't smell, they are soft, they dry quickly and don't itch when they are wet against my skin. I wear them in 100 degree weather and they don't keep me hot, they wick away the funk.
