The GoLite Shangri-La 3-person pyramid is the best 4-season shelter out there. Very lightweight and compact. For two people, it is luxurious in size, and will accommodate the two of you and all your gear. And in bad weather, it is spacious for cooking to escape the rain and snow. It comes with a bombproof center pole, but to save weight, I use trekking poles in the summer and an avalanche probe in the winter as my center pole. I consider it an absolutely essential piece of emergency equipment to take on 10th Mountain Hut trips in the winter. If you can't make it to your destination hut, it is quick and easy to dig a snow pit and erect the Shangri-La over it, for a warm and comfortable bivy. I've posted lots of photos of the Shangri-La in action.
