There are limitless modes/activities you can choose from. Biking, running, trail running, skiing....you can even create your own modes. You can customize the watch and information you view. This is the easiest GPS/Watch/Altimeter I have ever used!!

19Lives, Good news....there will be a Suunto Ambit Software Update in September. A few of the improvements I believe are to include a more precise timer(tenths of a second), precise chronograph and count down timer. You can get the software upgrade through movescount. The Ambit is amazing.....the only wristop GPS that has the ability to run software upgrades. I think the next one is 3.0.

THE MC2G IS THE GLOBAL COMPASS....YES, YOU CAN USE IN THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE. YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE A SLIGHT ADJUSTMENT....SPECIFIC IN THE OWNERS MANUAL.

The MC-2G is a "Global" compass which means you can use in the southern and northern hemisphere. The MC 2 is not global(you cannot use in patagonia). Does that answer your questions?
