Toddlers need baggy pants too!

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this suit in 3T for my 2 year old niece with the intention of getting another year out of it and I think we'll get another two! The pants have adjustable shoulder straps to grow with your kid and the mid section is flannel. Definitely a baggy fit - when shoulder straps are tightened there is still have lots of room in the torso and pant legs are rolled up. Also fits great over a one-piece thermoball on cold days!

I bought this jacket in 3T for my 2 year old niece with the intention of getting an extra year out of it — I think she'll get another two! My sister loves that they can take the fleece out of the shell and use it as an entirely separate jacket. The only thing is, since the jacket is so big it's tough to get the mittens on around the bunched sleeve when the fleece is worn underneath (no issue with just the shell only, once she grows into it this won't be a problem anymore). Here is a picture of my adorable niece Tillie rocking this jacket with the matching pants.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought these for my sister for Christmas this year. She comes from a ski racing background and she has a small foot. Because of this, finding a boot that fit and and didn't collapse when she flexed them was very difficult. Most boots that were stiff enough for her either didn't come in small enough sizes, or went too high up on her calf and that caused a lot of unnecessary pain. She said her first day in these boots was amazing; she didn't have any pain in her shins or in her calves and her feet didn't slip around like they did in her old boots. The fit is great and they are soft enough for her to comfortably chase her toddler around the mountain. She is stoked!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought my first pair of STH bindings 5 years ago, and I haven't skied anything else since. I now have three pairs, one on each of the skis in my quiver. Although they have changed the design a little bit over the years, upgrading the design of the heel piece as well as the toe piece to add WTR compatibility, the performance hasn't suffered. I have never had any problems pre-releasing out of these bindings and they have saved my knees a couple of times when I have taken bad falls by releasing when they need to.

This is the exact same binding as the Salomon STH2 WTR 16, it just has a different paint job and and Atomic logo on it. These will be compatible with any standard alpine ski boot as well as boots with WTR (Walk to Ride) rockered soles.

If you have any questions about this binding please call me on my direct line at 801-204-4682 or email me at pguinn@backcountry.com and I will be happy to help you out!

These are pretty basic vices, they are nearly fool-proof to set up (clamp down to most tables, benches, or pieces of ply-wood) and they fit a ski up to a 110 mm waist, which is awesome because I almost exclusively fat skis. If you have a ski that is wider you can even clamp the sides of the heel piece or toe piece of the binding with the middle clamp and make it work regardless of ski width. The only thing that could use an upgrade on this vice are the tightening screws when you are tuning the edges of the ski, these don't have pads on the ends of the screws so they can ding up your topsheet pretty good. This certainly isn't the most expensive set of vices in the market, but it certainly does the trick!

I have most of the different temperature variations for this wax and I love it! Depending on the conditions you can change temperature rating by going with a different color (or even mix a couple of them together) to make sure your skis go super fast. If you like going super fast, this is the wax for you!

When it comes to either keeping beverages ice cold or too hot to touch Hydroflask is the undefeated champion. I have been thoroughly impressed with my own Hydroflasks so when Christmas came around I gave this bottle to both my mom and my girlfriend. They both loved this years colors (Purple for the girlfriend and Mango for my mom) and they haven't had a hot drink go cold since. With my own bottle I usually have to leave the lid off for 10-15 minutes to let my coffee cool a bit or else it stays too hot to drink for like an hour if I leave the lid on. Really impressive technology! I highly recommend any Hydroflask product because I own most of them and have been stoked on all of them!

This is the lightweight version of the Coal Frena Beanie. It's the same style but about half as thick with a finer knit. It is super comfortable and still pretty warm despite being less bulky. I have a few of these beanies in different colors. I love mine so I got one for my girlfriend for Christmas as well and she loves hers too!

I got this beanie for my girlfriend for Christmas and she loves it! We've had some temperatures down near zero and it has done a great job of keeping her toasty! The Frena is pretty thick, if you are looking for something thinner and lighter try the FLT, which stands for Frena Light.

I have had a Hydroflask pint for about 6 months now and it is amazing. It keeps your drink of choice cold until the last sip, even if it takes you over an hour to finish. I love mine so much that it became my go-to Christmas present this year. My girlfriend, sister and my best friend all have one now and they are stoked on them. Once you have a frosty beverage in one of these you won't ever want to use a glass pint again.

Keep your favorite furry friend safe!

If you are looking to keep your pup safe and in place in the car I highly recommend this harness. I've got a truck with a bench seat and this harness is the only way that I have been able keep my dog Karl from encroaching on the space of my girlfriend or myself while also ensuring that he doesn't lose his balance and plunge headfirst into the dashboard every time I stop. I'll be honest, he wasn't exactly stoked the first time I put it on him, but as we came to our first abrupt stop it was apparent that he felt a lot safer and more in control once he realized that the seat belt helped brace him and keep him from falling off the seat.

Karl also has a tendency to invade my space when I am driving so this has been an awesome addition and has helped me drive more safely as well since he is no longer trying to sit on my lap. The harness has a loop on the back that clips into the seat belt and works best in the passenger seat when it is just me and Karl in the car. It also works pretty well when I put him in the middle of the bench seat between me and my girlfriend (although he is forced to sit up). This is an excellent accessory for any dog lover as well since it helps make sure that your furry friend is safe and buckled up in case of an accident.

Great Toddler Boots!

I got the Dalbello CX-1 ski boots for my niece as an early Christmas present. She refuses to take them off, absolutely loves them! She is 2 years old and normally wears a toddler size 6 shoe. We got her the 14.5, which is the smallest size that was in stock. They are probably 2 sizes large for her, but since she is starting to ski earlier than most they will work in the meantime and give her some room to grow. We anticipate that she will be able to use them for a couple of seasons.

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size

These are my favorite socks, they are very thin and breathable. I use them for everything from biking, running, hiking and even wear them at work. They don't have much cushioning, but that is another thing I like about them; they are low profile and keep my feet cool.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs small
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 175 lbs
Size Purchased: 34 Short

These pants are awesome. If you are looking for a comfortable, straight fit jean, that isn't super skinny, these are the ticket. I just bought my second pair in grey and they are awesome. I love the fact that they have a bit of elastic stretch to them. After you try a pant that has stretch it is impossible to go back. I wear these to work primarily, but if I decide to go climbing or go on a walk with the dog afterward they allow for plenty of movement so there is no need to change. I did find that they run a little small in the waist; I am normally a solid 32 , but I bought these in a 34.
