Instead of my usual medium in cycling clothing, I am a large in Castelli. I?m 5?9?, 140 lbs. with skinny arms and a 36?-37? chest and the large fits good. The medium looked and felt tiny. Be warned that this vest is also designed to be quite short in the front regardless of the size. So even my size large which looks perfect in the length on the back and through the chest is short in the front. That?s just how this vest is supposed to be. This short length in the front is for when you?re in the aero position so don?t worry about how it looks when you?re standing up. Also, you sacrifice pockets for a mesh back but it?s well worth it. I have a cycling jacket that doesn?t have a mesh back and you get way too hot very fast. You gotta have the mesh back for venting. The Leggero vest is made of an ultra-light material that folds up teeny-tiny. It comes with a palm-sized carry pouch that amazingly holds the vest. However, I don?t use it. I just fold the vest up and put it in a jersey pocket but it?s nice that they included the bag. I got this vest for days that start cool where you?re maybe also wearing arm and knee warmers but will probably take all or some of that off at some point. This vest is perfect for that situation and with it I don?t need to wear a base layer. It?s excellent for the weather we have here in SW Florida. The vest provides decent warmth and wind protection but not too much and it?s easy to stow. My only complaint is that I could do without the two way zipper. I never use it and it causes me occasional annoyance. If we could give half star ratings I?d give the Leggero vest 4 stars but since that?s not an option I?m going with the 5 stars. To summarize, pros: mesh back, very lightweight, designed for cool (not cold) days, easy to stow, highly visible (bright yellow color). Cons: odd sizing, about an inch or two short in front, two way zipper (although some people might like the zipper). Overall I recommend it especially if you can buy it on sale.
I also have Nashbar knee warmers but these LG?s are a step up in quality and fit. I love that the LG knee warmers actually come in sizes. Some of the cheaper knee warmers are one size fits all which doesn?t really work. I was thrilled to able to get a small sized knee warmer for my skinny legs (I?m 5?9? and 143 lbs.) and they work like knee warmers should. They cover my knee, go down to slightly below the knee, and sit slightly above my knee. My other knee warmers come up and go down way too far making them more like leg warmers. Quality is good and they grip well at the top and bottom. I haven?t had any problems with them bunching up under my knee which is a definite issue with the ones from Nashbar. The fabric is quality and they are fleece lined but not overly warm. I wore them in temps that were in the high 60?s and I kept them on all day. Overall they?re a great knee warmer especially for $29.
Unlike Castelli, Hincapie clothes are true to size. A medium fits like a medium should. I?m 5?9? and 143 lbs. and the medium fits perfect. The material is super soft and silky yet still provides compression. The material is also very lightweight and the straps utilize a very wide mesh. Both these things make the Equipe bibshorts great for hot weather. The straps are so airy and light that you barely feel them. It?s like wearing shorts instead of bib shorts but you still get the benefit of bib shorts. These bibshorts are cut low in front which is wonderful. I can actually see my belly button which also makes them good for warm weather and easier for going to the bathroom. One thing that?s hard to tell from some of the photos is that the yellow is a bright almost hi-viz yellow. These are top-shelf bibshorts and they were a steal at $52. I will be buying more Hincapie clothes.
This was my first Castelli purchase and everyone says to size up in Castelli clothing. To test this I bought a medium and a large in this jersey just to make sure. Well I should have saved myself the trouble and sized up like the masses say because they are correct. Instead of my usual medium in cycling clothing, I am a large in Castelli. Fortunately returns are easy with Backcountry. I?m 5?9?, 145 lbs. with skinny arms and a 36?-37? chest and the large fits good. It?s a fairly snug fit with a little bit of play in the stomach area. It?s a pro-cut jersey so it?s supposed to be tight. It?s not a skinsuit tight though. I probably could have crammed into a medium but it would been a little uncomfortable. Quality is top-notch and the fabric is super comfortable and very lightweight. It?s a hot weather jersey. I wear it during the hottest part of the summer here in SW Florida and it?s my coolest jersey. The extra zipper pocket is a nice bonus even though I?ll probably never use it and the sleeves grip nicely and are just the right length. My only complaint is that the Castelli logo/badge is annoying if you?re wearing shorts instead of bibshorts. The straps of my bibs line up to where the badge is so you don?t feel the logo. But if you?re wearing shorts you can feel the badge through the shirt and it?s itchy and uncomfortable. Because I love everything else about the jersey and because I got a good deal on it I kept it. You can remedy the logo/badge situation by putting a nickel-sized piece of athletic tape on the inside of the shirt when you wear it. Overall I?m very happy with this jersey and would buy another.
I can't believe I got these new for $110! Granted they were unboxed and from Ebay but that is amazing deal for such a high quality shoe. I often see them selling for around $210-$220 and I after using them I think they're worth that. The synthetic leather upper is soft but not too soft. You want some firmness and that's present. The carbon soles are very stiff and provide outstanding power transfer. The straps are ergonomic, highly adjustable, and easy to use. The shoe comes in half sizing and that's a huge plus because I was able to get the perfect fit. Overall the shoes are incredibly comfortable and a pleasure to wear. I've done 50-70 mile rides in them in very hot weather with no hotspots, numbness, or excessive sweatiness. My only suggestion is that a replaceable walking pad like what Sidis have would be nice.
Does it have a chamois?
This is a lightweight, soft, and extremely comfortable jersey. It?s stylish but not too flashy. The cut is tight which is how I like it. I bought a size medium although I also tried on a size large which was okay but I like the tighter fit of the medium better. The length of the medium jersey is also perfect whereas the large was a little long. I?m 5?9? and 150 lbs. This is the second Giordana jersey I own and you really do get what you pay for. Everything about it screams quality and a full length zipper is great. Once you start wearing Giordana it?s hard to wear cheaper jerseys. However, I got this jersey for cheap. I only paid $50 for it. At that price it?s a steal and I?m tempted to buy a second one as a backup. I also bought the bibs which are great too. However, for those I had to get a large because that?s all that was available. The large fits great so I have no complaints.
