The Pocket Rocket That Could!

This little guy is perfect for those extended trips where watching your pack weight is essential. Does exactly what it's supposed to, be tiny and boil water. To help it boil even faster, I'll usually bring some tin foil and make a make-shift wind screen. If you're looking for something to simmer and actually cook with, you might want to try something else. However, this stove does a great job with bacon and eggs, so long as you keep that bacon grease around.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have a down jacket that my cat decided it was going to piss all over. I was not looking forward to having to buy a new jacket, but luckily I found this Nikwax Down Wash. Worked like a charm! And it finally got rid of the campfire funk that had been building up for a while now...

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Nothing is worse than being a few hours away from civilization and feeling the pit in your stomach as it begins to slowly digest itself. Luckily, you remembered to bring a couple handy ProBars! Just one of these bars will give you plenty of energy to get back to the trail head or your campsite. Not to mention these aren't your typical dry compressed granola bars, these are full of moist goodness to make your face smile!

Familiarity: I've used it several times

This pad thai is easily comparable to the pad thai offered at Noodles & Co! After a long day of hiking I wasn't about to share this meal, but had it been a short day hike, this would be the perfect amount for two people. I used a little less water than directed and let it set for about 5 more minutes, the noodles were still a little crunchy, but everything else was perfect!
