Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs small

These certainly fit snug, I am 165 (5'10") and use a size medium.Great baselayer when heading out on the mountain or even backyard with the kids. wicks away moisture very well but sometimes I find that it feels a bit damp after a day of hard skiing (although you never notice the dampness). Same issue when using it for running it does not seem to dry as fast as some of my other tech T's. The bonus is that you really do not have that damp feeling that some of these products have when using them.
Overall decent baselayer, I am not sure about the anti microbial layer as I find they do get a case of the stinks if they sit around in my laundry bin for a few day (similar products that have anti microbials i have used did not have this same prob)

Nord

In 2007 Gore tex debut Gore tex Pro shell.
As I understand the actual gore tex membrane is the same what was changed was the backing fabric and the materials used to laminate the membrane to the face fabric and backer. These changes made Gore tex pro shell more breatheable than hore tex XCR (which stood for extended comfort range)

These are a regular medium fit. It will really depend on you height weight and chest size. They are cut a bit short in the front so if you are long and lean you may have a hard time finding the right fit. I have posted a comparison to the Theta AR (medium Beta and a small Theta AR).
We can give you a better idea what size if you post your approx measurements

Expensive insulating softshell

Its a very nice jacket- don't get me wrong. Great cut, soft warm fuzzy inside, feminine fit. Works great as an outsell or midlayer under a gore tex jacket. But it is crazy expensive and since getting an Atom SV and Atom LT my wife never wears this anymore (see our reviews of both jackets).
Powershield does a decent job of blocking the wind (on gusty days you can feel some of the wind through the jacket). Has a great soft fuzzy fabric laminated to the outer fabric which provides loft (about a 300wt fleece equivalent). However the Atom SV does the same job only better at less of a cost and it packs down to nothing making it ideal for travel. It has become more of a niche jacket in my wifes closet only coming out a few times a year.
Overall 2 star rating mostly due to the high cost of this jacket

Go-To softshell

My wife has a ton of gear . There are a few pieces that she keeps wearing all the time and this is one of them. It provides a perfect mix of wind resistance, breathability and a touch of warmth. The main body is windstopper (which itself is not very breathable) but the Apex fabric on the sides and back do a great job of blocking some wind and allowing the jacket to breathe.
The cut is great it has a nice length, longer arms (which is great for her) and 2 large pockets to stash just the right amount of gear. Lastly it comes at a price tag that is much less than most other windstopper jackets out there.
