I bought this jacket for my girlfriend for the upcoming Milwaukee winter. Little did I know that North Face's Heatseeker insulation is not the same measure as Arcteryx Coreloft, Primaloft or any other synthetic insulation. The description said 120g Heatseeker, which I expected to be pretty lofty and warm. This was not the case. When I took it out of the packaging it was as thin as, if not thinner than, my Arcteryx LT (60g coreloft). The quality of the product seemed legit but definitely a mid layer type jacket. despite the North Face's deceivingly odd use of insulation weight. I will be returning this jacket and spending the extra $140 for the Arcteryx Atom SV like I should have in the first place.

13 degrees F today and nothing but a t-shirt and my SV. Warm and toasty. This jacket is very unassuming. It's light, thin, extremely comfortable and very warm. I will be wearing this jacket throughout the Wisconsin winter. Normally i have an issue with large being to wide in the torso and a medium being to short in the torso and arms. I'm 5'10" 170, 41" chest and 34" waist, and the medium fits me perfectly.

This jacket is super thin. I bought this jacket thinking it would be a step up from normal soft shells. It is not. It does have high loft fleece inside, but even the fleece is thin. The soft shell itself is very thin. Feels more like a rain jacket than a soft shell. I'm 5'10" 175lbs athletic build and the large fit perfect. There was just enough room for a thick fleece underneath. I wore it outside today (32F and windy)and I love the fit and feel of the jacket, it broke the wind for the most part. But from my research I was expecting something thicker to wear with a fleece during the cold Wisconsin winters. This jacket will be great for very mild winter weather.
