Oatmealwrote a question about Burton Ion Snowboard Boot - Men's - 09/10 on February 24, 2010
After reading a bunch reviews on Burton boots, I've found that people seem to have a lot of problems with their "Speed-Zone Lacing" deals (breakage, looseness, etc.). I've ridden some Motos for 2 seasons (with 30+ days on snow for this one), and I have never had any problems at all with my laces. I step out of my shoes, get into my boots and - BAM! - I'm good to go. I mean, they do get loose after a couple hours, but I don't find it to be that much of a problem.
So anyway, I want to know if the laces on these boots are any different. Are they really weaker or something (I mean, weaker than my Motos. Obviously they're weaker than traditional laces), or if everyone's just yanking too hard on their lacey-pully jobs or riding in some way that's somehow super-abusive to them? Should I buy these since I haven't had any problems with the speed-lacing, even though everyone else seems to?
