Nicholas's Bio

Been skiing for 30+ years, instructing skiing (Alpine and Tele) formally for 4 years and just started working ski guiding past time for 2 years (would love to do more of this) and climbing for about 15-17+ years. And generally playing in the mountains whenever I can get away from the city.
Oh I also like to surf (very much a novice at this) and do other outdoor stuff when I can.

Hey Darkw, if you haven't already get the Mobe's see my above post I have a similar foot and the Scarpa worked really well. I still needed to do a little work on the Mobe but far less than I would have had to do on the Factor to fit my EE/EEE and super high arched foot in (the factor has a much lower instep area. Anyway so far all good. Much snugger than My Spirit 4's of the same size which did start to get a bit big in the heel, though I did a pretty good job of filling that up with some creative padding (former life as a boot fitter helps). Anyway I hope that helps.

Managed to get a few days on these before I left Japan and they are awesome! Light and stiff!
Out of the box with a quick mould of the Intuition liners and they are equally best fitting boots straight up I've ever had. And that is with my chronically difficult, hard to fit foot (read high volume and structurally very rigid foot).
I have high hopes that when I write my follow up review, after some more days skiing on these down here in Oz this coming down under season, I will be raving about them.
They certainly feel stiff enough to rip around the resort and work instructing skiing. And they also feel nicely snug around my ankle which is good. They are certainly a little more snug than my old Spirit 4's which are comfortable but not really stiff enough for a moderately sized bloke (95kg) who skis reasonably aggressively.
So I will keep all posted!
Happy skiing!
