Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been wearing Merrell shoes regularly for about 2 years now and plan to continue to wear their products. These shoes are excellent and very rugged. Still look/feel great after countless miles of hiking in the Appalachian and Rocky Mountains through snowy, muddy, and rocky terrains. The waterproofing works great, which you can always expect with Gore-Tex products. Because these shoes are so tough and rugged, they do require a little bit of breaking in, as they were very stiff when I first got them. Broke them in by hiking along a shallow/rocky creek near where I live. Overall though, I love these shoes. Very comfortable, very sturdy, and to top it all off they look pretty awesome.

Love these gloves. They fit perfectly on my hands and are super comfortable. Use them for biking in colder weather with the liners on and they blocked the wind great. Also use these for hiking near freezing weather and a little below. They're fairly warm w/o the liners on but with the liners on they help hold in the heat, giving a little extra warmth when needed. You can also use these gloves for skiing when its a little warmer, but when the temperature starts dropping these gloves work great as liners for larger/warmer ski gloves (which is how I used them for skiing in Colorado). Only issue that I have is packing the waterproof liners, if you don't fold them just right, they tend to give an awkward bulge to the top of your hand. Overall though, these glove are great and can be used for a variety of tasks.

Bought these pants to use as part of my rain gear, which they work excellent for. I carry these with me everywhere because of how light they are and they pack very small. The zip length is perfect for sliding over shoes or boots easily. I also use these for riding my bicycle on cold days, help up great in 30 degree weather for 11 miles one trip, blocked wind great. Also ended up using these as ski pants as I'm not a frequent skier and didn't want to buy full on ski gear, where they worked great at keeping me dry, just needed to wear some thermal gear underneath as these provide no warmth really. Overall, a great product that is useful for more than just rain protection.
