Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As a member of Gore MountainTechs, I have the opportunity to field test GORE-TEX gear in some of the harshest conditions. I absolutely love these shoes and have worn the heck out of them. They are super comfortable and fit my foot perfect. Lightweight, waterproof, and low profile. They have decent traction, nothing amazing, but still good. I wear them more for around town and short hikes, not backpacking or long hikes (and I actually do not wear them for jogging...they seem a little bulky for that IMO.) The abuse I've thrown at these shoes is crazy, and they've held up through it all! Very waterproof and breathable. I am sold on Vasque as my go-to brand, I just sometimes have a hard time finding the exact style I'm looking for. (I also bought Vasque M-Finity ice climbing boots and they're the best boot I've ever worn, bar none!) Can't go wrong with these shoes in my opinion.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As a member of Gore MountainTechs, I have the opportunity to field test GORE-TEX gear in some of the harshest conditions. I purchased these boots many years ago and they have been my go-to boot for backpacking and long day hikes. They have not disappointed. The fit was excellent out of the box, honestly almost no break in period for me. The traction is superb on steep and even loose terrain, but I have had toe pain after long steep descents...probably not the boots fault though. They're certainly waterproof, no issues there. The only complaint is that after years of use (getting wet, warming by a campfire, etc.) they have shrunk about a half size and now fit very snug. Overall, awesome boot and I'll absolutely be purchased Merrells again in the future!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As a member of Gore MountainTechs, I have the opportunity to field test GORE-TEX gear in some of the harshest conditions. This jacket is my go to jacket for backpacking. Very lightweight and packabe, yet still very waterproof. Zippers are not as hefty as I'd like, but help shave ounces so I guess it's worth it. No pit zips, which is a huge downfall for me, but not a show stopper as it's still quite breathable. The length is good for sleeves and torso, but it's pretty bulky in the torso (I'm 6', 185 lbs, and have this jacket in large.) The bulk does help when layering with down underneath, so I wear this jacket in all conditions. But as a shell, just a bit large in the torso for my liking. Overall, would still highly recommend this jacket, but you may want to consider stepping one size down if you're slim and don't need the length.

As a member of Gore MountainTechs, I have the opportunity to field test GORE-TEX gear in some of the harshest conditions. This jacket is seriously top notch. Very high quality outer fabric that has withstood some tough abrasion. Very waterproof, good breathability, and pit zips help in really warm situations. Hood fits helmets well, but can feel a bit bulky without a helmet (even when cinched down). Nice zippers all the way around. A slim fit (which I like) but the waist is just wide enough to fit me...any smaller and it would not go over my hips. Length is perfect on sleeves and torso (I'm 6', 185 lbs, and have a Medium for this jacket.) Less important to some, but the color Dusk is a great choice in my opinion. Overall would highly recommend this jacket for moderate to extreme conditions.

As a member of Gore MountainTechs, I have the opportunity to field test GORE-TEX gear in some of the harshest conditions...and these bibs are amazing. They're lightweight and packable, yet thick enough to stand up to tough abrasion on rock/ice. They articulate well in the knee and hip, but can sometimes bunch up in the crotch when high stepping...just the nature of the beast with bibs. Extremely waterproof, have had no issues. Would recommend layering in very cold conditions, but overall excellent bibs!
