Salt Lake City is my base of operations, but I ride all over the world.
I got this watch because it looks really nice. In reality it seemed a little cheap. The band is made of very thin steel and the movement is Japanese. It feels more like a $25 watch than a $500 watch. In my opinion, the Rip Curl Tidemaster is a much better watch with swiss movement and it is cheaper.
I love this trainer as much as any person can love a trainer (slightly above total hatred). It is super solid and secure, yet it allows you to move from side to side. That coupled with the heavy flywheel make the ride much more like it would be if you were out on the road. I have used mine for over 3 years now and it has been super solid. Get it if you have to train indoors.
These gloves are awesome. They block the freezing wind, plus my pinky isn't left on its own to freeze. These are the best winter riding gloves I have ever used.
If you bought a Tubular tire, then you will need this glue to glue it to your rim. If your tire is a clincher and hooks in using a bead, then you do not need it. Clincher tires need a tube, in tubulars, they are already inside the casing or non existent.
You will probably want to go with a 56 for this bike.
These grips are awesome. They are very light and comfortable. If you use some hair spray or clear spray paint to put them on they will never slip. Just grip it and rip it!!
These wheels are awesome. They are super light, fast, and strong. They are the ultimate racing wheels. You will notice a significant difference between these and any other wheels you have ever used.
These wheels are light and fast, but they are fragile. I weigh 140 lbs and I blew up the rim when i hit a pot hole in a race. Interestingly I did not flat, but the rim was destroyed. They work great, but keep them on smooth roads.
Shimano spd pedals have had problems in the mud and wet sand before, but not with these. They shed mud like an egg beater but keep you firmly secured to the pedal. The needle bearings are super smooth and very efficient. This is the best XC pedal out there.
16.5 is what I would recommend.
A great way to block UV rays without covering your body in chemicals. I burned my arms really badly on a ride, picked up a pair of these, and was able to ride pain free in full sun. I also raced MTB Marathon Nationals in them and my arms were nice and comfortable.
