Michaelsoft_'s Bio

I've been a working for Backcountry.com since July of 2011 as a Gearhead and now in Accounts Receivable.

I spend most of my time in the winter snowboarding at resorts and do some back country riding and hiking.

I spend the majority of my time trying to outsmart fish with a fly rod and spend a good deal of time backpacking in the western US.

The new palix waders are sweet. We got these for a good friend of mine who is just getting into fishing. I have another friend with the older version and I must say that these are an awesome improvement with materials and seams and overall fit. Two thumbs up on these for the person who isn't cranking out the fishing days all the time.

I love these socks, but this is my second pair and the first wore out faster than any other smartwool sock I've ever bought. I love the heal cup on these and how thin they are. I've worn the two pairs all summer long (obviously with other socks too) and they weren't too hot for my feet, whether it was running shoes or street shoes. I have loved them so I bought another pair. THey are also the thinnest socks I have of smartwools so naturally they would wear out fastest.

I really like the idea of this pack and I love how minimal it is and it fits such a small amount of stuff but is what I wanted. Here are my gripes. the backpack straps are one continuous strap that moves between a rectangular D ring in the top center. Which means every time you take the pack on or off one strap instantly takes all the slack and becomes twice as long. Drives me nuts, so i've been wearing it as a messenger bag and it works great this way. Also my 15" Macbook Pro barely fits and I have to take it out of it's separate sleeve in order for it to fit and the zippers scratch the surface as it slides in. I really am trying to love it, but we'll see how much the pros and cons can balance out.

My kid is almost 19 months and loves this bike. I have to hold onto it right now for him, but he is sitting on the seat and I have him put his feet up to help him get comfortable on it. I don't really know the best way to transition them into it so this is working for us right now and for his size.

Key word here is "little". Great pack, but only one main pocket, a couple small flat sewn pockets (flat sewn means it's really hard to fit anything that's not relatively flat in them). The key to this bag is the small features. The rod tube holder on the bottom of the bag as well as the attachment parts throughout the whole thing for zingers and other things. The strap for the waste is awesome and comfortable. It is made so that your fishpond net fits between the back of the strap and the actual bag but doesn't rub up on your clothing or waders - which to be honest is my favorite part of the bag. Great pack, but don't plan on taking a lot with you.

This is a very functional product. The attachment method allows it to spin freely while staying locked onto your bag/vest. The retraction method is simple and easy. The only gripe is it can't hold anything that ways more than a pair of nippers or else it sags. Over all I really like having it on me.

Quit fumbling to grab your nippers and make the switch to these guys. The originals work better than any others and there work just as good but bigger. And these are much better for cutting thicker lines.

I was excited to grab one of these since price is comparable to the traditional zingers. Loved that the bottom piece locked in place when it was retracted and the no traditional stretchy cord. The needle style clasp on the back broke off within a couple weeks. Terrible idea for attachment method in the first place but then it broke. Cool piece, I'm just rough on everything. I have a friend with one who loves it and going strong from months of use.

This is a very functional and well working piece. I was disappointed when I got it though because it is a deep blueish greenish color. I have the green air carrier so it looks really tacky. I was only aware of the grey color so maybe there are other colors that are or will be available. It would go great with almost any of the other colors. Just not green.
