Michaelsoft_'s Bio

I've been a working for Backcountry.com since July of 2011 as a Gearhead and now in Accounts Receivable.

I spend most of my time in the winter snowboarding at resorts and do some back country riding and hiking.

I spend the majority of my time trying to outsmart fish with a fly rod and spend a good deal of time backpacking in the western US.

This is a very functional product. The attachment method allows it to spin freely while staying locked onto your bag/vest. The retraction method is simple and easy. The only gripe is it can't hold anything that ways more than a pair of nippers or else it sags. Over all I really like having it on me.

Quit fumbling to grab your nippers and make the switch to these guys. The originals work better than any others and there work just as good but bigger. And these are much better for cutting thicker lines.

I was excited to grab one of these since price is comparable to the traditional zingers. Loved that the bottom piece locked in place when it was retracted and the no traditional stretchy cord. The needle style clasp on the back broke off within a couple weeks. Terrible idea for attachment method in the first place but then it broke. Cool piece, I'm just rough on everything. I have a friend with one who loves it and going strong from months of use.

This is a very functional and well working piece. I was disappointed when I got it though because it is a deep blueish greenish color. I have the green air carrier so it looks really tacky. I was only aware of the grey color so maybe there are other colors that are or will be available. It would go great with almost any of the other colors. Just not green.

We just got this bag and I'm glad we got it for a car camping because it isn't very light! I like the bag and it seems like it will be great for my wife and I. We bought it to take our 16 month old kiddo camping and so we could have him between us. Back up plan is that I have another sleeping bag so my wife and son can be together in this. I'll update after we use it here soon.

My wife and I both love the eddy bottle for our son and he loves them too. The only problem is he found out his finger fits in the hole in the bite valve and so he always puts it in and has ripped it. I told my sister and they had the same problem with all of their kids. Fortunately they make a replacement so we didn't have to get a whole new water bottle. These are great and easy to change out. The only gripe I have with them is that I wish you could find them in the same color we had on his original bottle.

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size

So I did my fair share of digging around to find a really solid jogger for my wife and the kiddo. This guy scores in the top 5 in a lot of different reviews and tests. The main complaints I read was that the frame was very narrow where the kid sits, but our kid is 15 months old currently and has plenty of room. I'm sure if your kid is getting a little older - around 3 or so, they might start to get a little squished.

Thule has the function locked down for sure. It packs down super small and is the easiest thing to actually break down to throw in the back of the car. Its a swift twist and turn to fold it up.

Definitely keeps to it's name and glides like a charm. Super smooth with big wheels that absorb a lot of the little bumps. It also has an adjustable canter that you can make the stroller favor right or left. I would definitely recommend this.

The net overall was longer than I had anticipated it to be. Standing next to me it goes to around my belly button (I'm 5'9"). Like said previously, it is great when netting others' fish and great to have the extra reach when you're fishing alone and have one that doesn't want to come in. Haven't had a chance to put anything big in it yet, but I love the deep basket on this and feel confident in it's ability to hold bigger fish.

First impression was that the diameter of the parts was beefier than I had thought it was. Probably around 8-9mm. I'm impressed with the cleverness of the whole thing though. The little grey piece has a blade on it to cut your tippet which I didn't catch when looking at it on the here. Also the way that you get the tippet on and off is cool - The end of the orange part that sticks out is spring loaded so you pull the knob out and it releases the orange part to swing open to load/unload your spools.

Also, I can fit spools of Maxima with plenty of extra clearance for something bigger if I had to.

I dislike the clip that attaches to the bag. The clip is cumbersome to get around anything and where it connects at the bottom to the tippet holder is loose and doesn't realign well. I'm looking for a different clip/biner to use and I'm sure it will handle my petty annoyance.

Overall much better than a tippet "T" or anything else for that matter. Looks cool and functions well.
