Even if it does have enough room for a helmet, I'd avoid putting one in. I like to keep my helmet with me, can't really trust the baggage handlers to treat it with care. You can't know if it may have taken a bad impact and be worthless when you pull it out of the bag.
Ordered the XL but it was pretty much painted on (46" chest...xl is usually fine).
Shirt looks the same as it does on the site, but runs small.
I can't figure out how to get the pump to work on schrader valves. The presta is easy, just put it on and lift the lever. It keeps popping off the scraders though...suggestions?
How does this jersey fit compared to other jerseys? I have a couple Pearl Izumi jerseys of varying fits (xxl race jersey is pretty tight, xxl relaxed jersey is fairly baggy).
The issue with trying to add a Viabram sole on a ski boot is that it messes with the DIN settings on your bindings and they have a tendency to pre-release. Rossignol has somehow found a way around this, but I wouldn't suggest a DIY job.
I bought these to replace my Marmot Work gloves that I have been using exclusively for 5 years. I have about 5 days on the Inbounds gloves so far and they seem like they're going to do well. They were a little tight (I bought the Large, since that's what I had from Marmot), but after a little use they have broken in nicely. I would suggest something else if the temp is going to be in the single digits (F) or colder, but other than that I'm happy with the purchase.
I'm going into my 5th season owning this jacket. I've probably worn it skiing for 100 days or so and while it's getting kind of dirty, it has held up much better than expected. The insulation is phenomenal, and allows me to just wear a light layer under the jacket when I ski.
I only really have two (minor) complaints. There isn't a powder skirt, which isn't a huge deal because I'll wear something different on deep days, but it would be a nice feature...even if it were removable. The other minor issue is that the hood is huge. It's great when you've got a helmet on, but it's almost too much without a helmet. Other than that though, this is a great jacket and I'd buy another one in the event this one wore out.
These pants are perfect for inbounds skiing. They are super warm even without a baselayer. The cut is generous enough for almost anybody, and they're comfortable all day.
I'm convinced they're nearly indestructible, with over 250 days on them they show no wear. There is a part on the top of the size zips that fell off after about 200 days, but Patagonia fixed it up for free and they're good as new.
I got a pair of these in February last year and probably got 6 days on them. All in 8+ inches of Colorado fluff. The float was unbelievable. I had them center mounted, which took some getting used to. I'm still not sure that's how I want to keep them, as I'm used to a more traditional alpine binding location. The flat spot underfoot really lets you control the ski on the way back to the lift. I wouldn't recommend this as your every day ski (unless you only ski powder days).
I've gotten a few looks in the lift line with these things on my feet, but the way down is worth it. They float like a dream, and the flat spot underfoot allows for good control on the way back to the lift. I only took them out about 6 times last year and was blown away every time.
