Matthew's Bio

I'm motivated by my two boys, that gets me to work, gets me on the bike, in the harness, etc. I want the best for them and I'll do anything to make their lives better. The last thing I want is to not be able to keep up with them athletically. As they get older I'm looking forward to using all this gear to keep us in the outdoors!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

These shorts are super comfortable. I used them swimming and hiking through the Subway in Zions National park. The material is very stain resistant as well, it seems to be a pretty bombproof short. Obviously they are expensive, but sometimes you get what you pay for. Stoked to have these!!

I always screw up buying things for my wife. She is soooo picky (don't tell her I said that), but seriously she returns all the jewelry I buy her and not to mention the clothing she returns. BUT - she loved this wallet!!! First time successfully buying something for "she who must be obeyed". - Matt

If size doesn't matter (meaning you can haul anything and you don't have to carry it up the trail), this little friend is amazing. I've bought 3 total and I've been extremely happy. We recently used them running the Epic Relay from Cache Valley to Jackson Hole. Very nice to throw down on any surface and be comfortable.

I screwed up. Not paying attention again (ADHD) and I bought the wrong charger for the Orbit. I needed the NRG2, not the NRG. The NRG is for the Apollo, the NRG2 is for the Orbit.

Rather than sending this little charger back, I decided to purchase an Apollo since I really liked the Orbit and thought, bigger may be more impressive. I was right, the Apollo rules! Orbit is pretty cool too! For light trips I take the Orbit, for car-camping or where I'm not worried about the weight, the Apollo is really nice to have.

Anyway, learn from my mistakes Orbit = NRG2 charger!

Thanks!

It's much smaller than it looks in the photo above, but it does give off some good light. I've charged it a couple times now and it seems to loose charge faster in colder weather. I made the mistake the first time of getting the wrong rechargeable battery. This one takes the NRG2 battery, not the NRG. Also takes batteries and seems to last a pretty long time. I'd buy it again!

I've had a terrible time with therm-a-rest pads. I can't seem to keep them inflated after a couple camp outs. I haven't tried the repair kit. I'll give it a shot, but I think the leak may be at the valve? I've held it underwater and haven't seen air coming from a hole. I hope others are having better luck with this than I am.
