Most of my free time is spent fishing the local rivers and lakes. There's beautiful country out there that's waiting to be explored!
I didn't realize how much I would like the convertible feature, but I wear these rolled down all the time with the warm weather. They fit great still and are super light.
The fish don't mind it! It was 33 degrees, raining and super windy this day, but this jacket did exactly what I needed it to. It breathes really well for a rain jacket so you don't end up soaked from the inside out.
I grabbed an extra one of these when I bought my 3850CF and am very glad that I did. It's extremely light and performs flawlessly. The only thing I was disappointed in was that it didn't come in the blaze color, but that's turned out to be a good way to tell my lines apart.
I've been through my share of leaders and these ones have never let me down. I always buy the three packs and lately I've been needing them. The 4x seems to be a little stiff at the loop, but I have had any problems with the connection yet.
I've used these, Rio, Orvis and so far they perform just as well as any other that I've used. The best part with SA leaders is they tend to be a little less expensive if you have to purchase at regular price. They hold up well and until you get a knot in them, you can keep adding tippet. I've never had one actually wear out.
They work just as well as all the other tapered leaders that I've used, but they do seem to be easier to "unroll" when you first take them out of the package. My Orvis leaders would always tangle up, but the Rio ones have so far been much easier.
Fishpond's chest/lumbar packs are great and I'll never go back to a vest now that I've used these. The "fly bench" is a very quick and convenient place to keep your most common flies and store your flies to dry out at the end of the day. It can hold more than enough fly boxes and it still has more pockets inside of the large compartments than you'll know what to do with.
I would definitely recommend getting one of the guide packs if you like to carry almost everything you could possibly want on the river.
