Matt Oliver's Bio

I'm a Utah native who loves all she has to offer. I love pretty much anything outdoors. Growing up with a 20+ year scout master for a dad, you spend more than the average child's time hiking, camping and all that stuff. I taught myself to ski at 12 and got into climbing pretty heavily at 20. I'm not "Pro", but I can get down anything on the mountain and onsite most 5.10's that cross my path.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I do like these as far as headphones go. I however have to trade them for a new pair every 3 months or so. Every single pair Skull Candy headphones I have owned has developed a short in the jack. I guess it could be user error. Either way; thank god for BC?s return policy!

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size

I picked these up for the Gore-Tex waterproof membrane expecting to only be able to wear them when there was snow on the ground. I was pretty surprise when my feet weren?t soaked in sweat after a good day on snowshoes. I ended up taking them out a couple times in the spring and summer with similarly surprising results. Even with the warm weather these boots kept my feet well vented and feeling good.

These gaiters are not just another tube of Gor-tex. With a scalloped design these fit to your boots better and with a taper at your ankle you get an all-around great fit! This is the same innovative design used by Black Diamond, but with Mountain Hardware’s stretch panel added into the back. In addition; the extra security of the upper snap and lower Velcro tap guarantee these aren't coming undone halfway up the route. Throw in the inverted laces hook which won't pop off and you are looking at several key features that most of the other leading gaiters don’t have individually, and none have collectively… This is why I bought a pair even though they are about 2 inches shorter than all the other gaiters on the market. The later will be why I will be returning these gaiters. They are great, but have a tendency to end up around your ankles in deep snow because they just don’t reach over my calves enough to stay put.

I love this thing so much. Size, pockets, fit, everything. This is my main go to pack for everything from simple days at the sport craigs, to mountaineering trips and even ski tours. I can fit eveything I want in it with the extendable main compartmet, or I can sinch it down for the light weight summit pushes.
