Marcus Caston's Bio

I am Salt Lake born and raised, grew up racing and learning to ski with the Snowbird Ski Team. Skiing at Alta and Snowbird gave me the skills I needed to transition into a freeskiing career. Now, I spend my time on the hunt for the perfect powder turn!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Here it is... for the first time ever. A ski that will outperform a high performance groomer specific ski, but give you the versatility to get off the groom and into the bumps and trees. Go rip up the groomers all morning and hit up high rustler after lunch? Bring it!

I ski the Cochise in resorts and threw some dynafits on these bad boys. Im an old ski racer, and current hard man.. so I have a tough time admitting to myself that I really like this ski better than the cochise. Its lighter than the cochise and easier to ski, but I have not been able to max it out...and I have tried. I take pictures for world cup ski races and use this to get myself around the hill on those days ( so I can use my comfortable touring boots). After the last racer goes... its my time to let loose. Its almost a joke that a light touring powder ski with dynafit binders will hold my Super G turns down injected world cup hills with a 50 pound pack on.

Give it to me

A big mountain one ski quiver. On the groomers it carves without any flop thanks to flipcore and camber underfoot. In chop its a a freight train thats going to bust through everything. In Powder its 108mm waist + perfect amount of tip /tail rise is going keep you up without the obnoxious unbalanced feeling of other rockered skis...unless you want in the powder. Then just ask it and they will take you deeeeeep

A life changer

No doubt the world would be a better place if everybody skied Bonafides. Camber underfoot with slight early rise in the tip and tail and 98mm waist has all the makings for a great one ski quiver. However, the secret ingredient, and the one that brings it all together, is the flip-core. By molding the ski in its natural shape, a process unique to Blizzard, you get a ski that will out preform any high performance ski on the groomed then turn around and crush bumps, trees, crud, and the lightest Alta powder. Its not just going to do it all, its going to be the best at everything. Try one and tell me I'm wrong.

The Blizzard Bonafide is perhaps the most fun and versatile ski ever made. Magic is the only explanation for the Bonafides ability to turn a 98mm western monster into a GS machine on Eastern ice. Once I hopped on the Bonafide I threw out my GS skis (not 100% true, but I hardly ever use them anymore). Plus, who wants to go up to the mountain with 2 pairs of skis and ski off trail in the morning and groomers in the afternoon? I sure as hell don't...I want a ski that crushes hard down Silver Fox then slices up Lower Chips all in the same tram lap. From the Snowfields of Sugarloaf to doubling up on Hanging Bowl at the Bird, I want the Bonafides on my feet. If you ski, you need to have these skis.

Powder ski out of the race room

The most versatile powder ski on the market for sure. Another magical child of the flipcore which allows you to crush the pedal to the floor and makes 80 mph feel like 40. However, the most amazing quality of the Bodacious is how versatile and forgiving such a powerhouse of a ski can be. This ski is not just for the super hero skiers that you see in the movies, the Bodacious understands you and will back off if you want it too... she's a very calm and understanding monstrous beast.
