Madi B.'s Bio

I've been an outdoor enthusiast since I can remember; I'm happiest when there's mountain air in my lungs...I'm always down to try new things, and love spending as much time in the fresh air as possible! I've been an employee at Backcountry.com since October, 2011...and have loved every minute of it!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs small

Super functional boot - I wear these too and from the mountain before changing into my ski boots and also around the house most days to keep my feet warm on the cold tile. They're ultra soft inside and so far, have kept my toes warm even in around 10 degree weather on the mountain. Probably not a boot you'd wear out on date night - Not the cutest boot in the world - kind of looks like you're wearing a big pair of over-sized socks, but the functionality definitely outweighs the looks. They do run a little narrow on the foot...I have wide feet, and it's not a huge problem, but it definitely stretches the material a little bit. Also, get one size larger than you'd normally get, because of the insulation, these boots run a size small. Love me some BOGS!!!

I just spoke with a customer concerning these Emerald Sandals. She is currently in Italy, and is loving the comfort and fit of the shoes...she's on her feet all day and says her feet have been happy and comfortable, but she is noticing that the Black color has started staining her feet very badly. So, fair warning, these shoes may end up staining your feet - particularly in the black color. Other then that, excellent shoes!!!

This hammock is good for what it states...hiking, trekking, and camping...however, the dimensions state "9 x 4 ft"...with the sides bunched up the way they are (because of the strings you're going to be attaching to the wall, or tree...) take SO much length out of the hammock. It says 9 ft...but it ends up being more like 4ft x 4ft in the end. Do not purchase this hammock unless you are intending to just hang out in it...I bought it for sleeping in, and I'm only 5ft 5in, this hammock was WAY too small to lay in for me. Other then that, it's great...it's super lightweight, and a very strong thin material...it just didn't live up to it's size dimensions. Only purchase this hammock, if you intend to sit in it, in that case, it would be a fantastic hammock!

I got this Nalgene in the Spring Color...love the color, by the way, it's so fun! Not too much to say about a waterbottle when reviewing except for...I love how convenient this water bottle is. It is so tough, and so easy. The one downside would be that when you're driving, or walking on a bumpy road, it's a bit hard not to spill on yourself with the wide mouth on the bottle. I thought about buying the small mouth Nalgene just like this one, but found a better solution. Some retailers sell water bottle stoppers of some sort...it's a little rubber piece you put in the opening, that slows the water flow down to a smaller opening, so you don't spill on yourself...this bottle, plus that opening stopper, or whatever it's called...is a match made in heaven.

I actually really like this pad...it's a bit small, but other than that, it's fantastic. It's fairly light weight, so it's not bad at all to hike with, and it gives you plenty of cushion when you fall on it. It's also great to rest on while you're up there as well.
