These Fox shorts are a perfect combination of light to moderate protection (have no illusion that these are downhill/big hit adequate, they're not) for us CC and all-mountain trail rider guys and gals. They add a layer of padding in critical areas by don't restrict movement or get in the way. These also turn any board short into a MTN bike short by wearing them under them.

Bottom line is they'll keep you from getting bruised up in light to moderate tip overs and lessen the hurt in a big one. I bought three sets and they launder well in the delicate cycle and I hang them to dry.

I bought size large and I wear waist size 34 560 brand Levis if that helps with sizing.

"BAM!! Oh crap!... The good news honey is MY bike is still on the rack!"......

Yep, that's what I had to tell my wife after we hit a mondo pothole in our truck and her bike flew off the cheapie rack I bought... No lovin' for me that night.

We travel a lot of dirt roads to get to our riding areas here is SW Utah and this Yakima rack has performed flawlessly. Yes, it's a lot of coin at nearly $400 bucks but it is super easy to use, protects the frames from scratches and two bikes take less than ninty seconds to load/unload.

Only negative is that it is little heavy to install/remove from the hitch.

Ya.. that's right. After taking a big crash 8 miles into a 25 mile ride and having to super glue a gash on my shin closed (really needed stitches but hey, ya use what you have) I decided to invest in some armor.

I'd give these a 4 on a 5 scale. Pluses: They are priced right and stay in place and fit well. Seems like when you wear armor you never need it.

Minuses: Still leaves a little of that lower shin exposed but all prtection is a compromise. Chicks dig scars...these prevent them.
