686 makes great stuff, and these pants are no exception. I have a pair of Smarty pants from last year and the minor changes are great touches. For example, the liner pants have mesh vents that line up with the zip vents on the outer pants. Very effective for cooling down and controlling sweat and other crotch nastiness. The outer material is super durable. The lighter color is a magnet for stains but ends up looking better with a few splotches (think broken in pair of shoes). Liner adds warmth without bulk but some of the plastic buttons used are junk and broke the first day out. Fit was right on. Bottom line: Great pair of pants for all conditions.

I just took this jacket on a 5 day riding bender in CO. Conditions were cold (-3 air temp with -30 wind chills) and the jacket kept it toasty. The liner adds a lot of warmth without adding bulk and has its own mesh vents that line up with the jacket's zip pit vents. It is a nice, subtle touch that really works well when you need to cool off a bit. I am 6'2" with longer arms and normally I need an XL for sleeve length, but a large fit me great. Perhaps 686 added a bit of length in the sleeve??? Only con is the integrated wrist gaiters pull at the webbing between thumb and finger because of the seam placement. Other than that, jacket rocks. Durable, watertight, warm, low-profile. Don't hesitate, but it.
