Backcountry.com’s Gearheads are your instant connection to gear knowledge. They’re passionate outdoor experts hell-bent on helping you find the right ski, saddle, or pro. Follow their adventures and exploits.

As an avid fisherman I can usually be found in the waters of Utah stalking big Brown’s, Cutthroat, Rainbows, or Brook Trout. If you do not see me there and the snow is fresh then I could be hiding in the hills looking for that perfect Powder shot.

I work in the Group Sales Department assisting with bulk orders for Government agencies, corporate accounts, as well as various clubs, groups, and teams. If you are in need of making a bulk purchase I’d love to answer your gear related questions and assist you with your order. Ted, you will want to go with an XL which will give you some extra length in the torso and plenty of room to layer under it. Always a good idea to get all dressed up before removing the tags just to make sure it is the fit you are looking for and you can fit all the layers you will need under it.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size

I have had several people complement me on these shoes telling me they like my fancy kicks! Well I am flattered they like my dope kicks so much and give them a little dance to show off the fancy foot wear. I bought these in the Color: Black/White/Cyan and size 9.5. They fit great, look good, and are comfortable all day. These have become my everyday shoe and have been holding up well for several month.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I recently picked up one of these bad boys and does exactly what I need. I sized up so I can throw it on over my jacket while switching out the skins and getting ready for the down hills. Even with the extra room inside it's still the warmest 1lb down I have ever worn thanks to the weight mostly coming from mountain hardware's 850 down, the shell is extremely light weight and the unnecessary bells and whistles are absent on this no nonsense mountaineer approved down. If you thinking about getting one DO IT! I'm 6' and about 180 and the large is roomy enough to throw on over a jacket but a medium would fit better over just a base layer.

Awesome! This was great for a desert camping trip in the spring. It kept me nice and warm so I could sleep like a baby with its soft and comfortable feel. Should be great for spring, summer, and fall adventures. Come winter this will be great for crashing on friends floors when bouncing from resort to resort looking for the gnar.

While these caused me some discomfort I know that they are just needing to be broken in. I have not had much chance to use them and thought that it would be a good idea to use them backpacking in order to break them in. I would not suggest this unless you are fine with unhappy dogs. They are one heck of a boot and I can see that they will improve in comfort when they have had the chance to break in. I would suggest an insole because there is not any cushioning. Generally I wear a size US 9 and I went with the 42.5 size and they fit good with a little wiggle room.

These are quite nice. The heal has a ton of cushion and they feel great on the old dogs (feet). I do not recommend using these in the Desert where there is a lot of sand because the sand easily slips through the mesh and builds up in the shoes. Made my feet a little raw when that happened. Other than that I love these bad boys. Light weight with good cushioning. They fit true to size.

I have used this to take all sorts of photos. I have some video of the activities that I love whether it be fishing or snowboarding. The videos are pretty good and the photos are fine. This is not great for low light days and is not always easy to point and get the shot that you want but it is great for some basic photos or videos. I like it but it can be a pain to get the shot that you want.

These are a nice soft and comfortable material that is used. They fit true to size and cover my butt nicely. The ladies are always watching me walk off. Well that is what I would like to think! Really these are a great pair of pants that are light and great for hotter weather. They are a casual pant so they are not the best for scrambling around in the hills because I could see the material wearing out if exposed to rigorous outdoor activities. I have not had any issues yet but am cautious when out and about in the hills.

These fit big. So big that I could not keep mine. I also noticed that they felt pretty warm, I thought that these would be nice and cool but that did not seem to be the case. They seemed that they would be a good water shoe and were pretty comfortable (but they were to big for me, about a half to full size to big). I was not a big fan of the laces, they seemed difficult to adjust. I think that I will stick with my Chaco's.

Well lets face it, DOG'S like to get wet. If there is a stream or lake or any body of water the dogs want to get in. The problem with this is that you don't think about taking it off before they go for their swim. I have has mine fail because there was moisture in it and it did not want to stay on. It still works, so that is a plus, but I thought that this would be something that I could leave on the collar. I would not suggest it. This is great if you walk your dog at night and will not be by any water for them to soak this in. Take it off after the walk and keep it with the leash and you will be happy. Keep it on your keys when you are not walking the dog and have a little extra light close at hand.

Well let me tell you that I wear these shorts about 4-5 days out of the week. I do have 2 pairs so it is not like I am wearing dirty, smelly, disgusting shorts day in and day out. I love the fit. It is loose but not overly baggy. The fit is true to size. With the gusseted crotch you can move freely without having them cramp "your style". The pockets are deep and can fit plenty of odds and ends. Good look, good feel, great shorts.

I am 6' tall and 190 lbs and the large fit me great. It was long enough to cover my waist but not to long that I felt like I was drowning. It is very puffy and kept me quite warm. Unfortunately I returned mine because I really did not need another down jacket but it was a great jacket but a bit heavier and bulkier than my The North Face Flash Jacket. Great jacket but I just did not need it at this time.

Well I had to get these because the dog ate my leather ones and I figured that these may not taste as good so they may last longer. Well I am a size 9 in just about all shoes and measure it on the Brannock Device, I got these in a 9 and the length and width seemed good but it was the strap that was tight. Just took about a good week or two for them to break in. They feel good and fit great. The strap is still snug but not to tight. I love these! Now that I have broken them in I can flip my flop, kick my feet up, and enjoy a cold beverage at the end of a long day.

Well this is a cool little pump but it has a lot of resistance and is difficult to get to the right PSI. I am not a big fan. I also bought the one with the gauge so that I could actually see the PSI that I was at because with this one I was just guessing (and not very good at that). While this may be a small compact pump it will give you a work out just trying to get to the right PSI. I would suggest something bigger and if you decide on this one then I would recommend that you make sure to have a pressure gauge as well.
