LueBubba in Ottawa Canada wrote a review of Patagonia Downtown Loft Down Parka - Women's on December 31, 2011
This was actually my second choice as the one I really wanted (based on reviews) was the "Canada Goose Mystique parka" which seems to be sold out for the season - apparently the coats were in some stores since July.
I do not find that this coat is made for -21 degrees Celsius and colder temperatures (approx - 6 degrees Fahrenheit) as was the case in Ottawa 2 days ago - and there will be more days like this ahead.
I felt the wind and cold but by keeping moving and not spending too much time outdoors - this coat worked. Also, I have long arms and as there is not tapered fit at the wrist, part of my skin was exposed to the wind and cold. It would be nice to have recessed rib-knit cuffs to keep out the cold or longer length on the arms.
I like the stylish, snug fit and it will be a good coat for up to minus 10 degrees weather, but for colder temperatures a warmer coat is needed.
