Lisa E's Bio

I can't get enough of time spent outdoors. Salt Lake City is the perfect place for this and thankfully this is where my parents raised me, and I currently live. I love getting out in the Wasatch, skiing, hiking, climbing, or just sitting by a mountain stream. Most of the time, I have one or all three of my kids joining me. I love camping, and backpacking all over the Western US but prefer staying in Utah, either the Uinta Mountains, or Southern Utah Redrock. I am an avid backcountry and alpine skier. I taught skiing at a local mountain for 13 years before moving to a desk job here at Backcountry.com

These are great shoes and definitely not the first pair of Sanuks I have purchased. I picked these up for my son and he loves them. They have a nice casual look which is great for a 16 year old in the summer. The antimicrobial is great but I would still recommend washing these occasionally.

Love these shorts. They fit well, are easy to clean, and great for travel with. My outdoor wardrobe would never be complete without a pair of these. These pack down really small and work great for backpacking, hiking, camping and really just hanging out. The two front pockets are amply sized to hold a small camera or smartphone, and a few snacks.

The Vengas feel and look great on. Although I have not put them through the wringer yet, so far they perform well climbing and allow for a wide range of movement. They are a nice hiking pant as well for spring and fall weather. These pants can definitely go from crag to a casual workplace. As far as sizing, they run a tad big. I am usually between an 8 and 10 and the 8 fits well. I did notice a small sizing discrepancy between the different colors as well. Not a huge deal but noticeable.

This tank is really unique and pretty with the open back and also flowy feel. The waist is fitted so there is no worries about it flying up which makes it good for climbing. The built in sports bra is quite supportive and would be fine for moderate activities. Personally I found it a little low cut for wearing out climbing. I ordered a M and am 36B 5'10 150 pounds. Another note is that the fabric on the main body is nice and light but is not sheer or see through.

This is a really nice lightweight sweater. The hood is oversize and perfect for cooler nights. The knit is a little bit sheer so keep that in mind when layering underneath. I have a dark color and wear a skin tone bra which works perfectly. Kangaroo pocket is o so roomy for cold hands. Wash and Dry per instructions with no problems.

Finding a perfect pack for my man this season was no easy task and we looked at quite a few. This was to replace a fairly old Dakine Heli Pro 28 L
At 31 Liters the pack is a great size for day trips and long tours. Ergonomic fit is awesome. The back pad doubles as a horizontal board carry. Good side access zippers. One side access panel for water or small gear is nice to have separated. Top access is great with a cinch closure that extends the capacity or stuffs in. The inside Kangaroo pouch is perfect for extra gear(Verts in this case) Everything fits internally including: Poles, Verts, extra layers, gloves etc. Ripstop is bomber. It has nice outside gear carry as well which is perfect for an ice axe, snowboards etc. Simple, low profile design is perfect for anyone wanting to get out into the backcountry.
