I actually have a different model, Gradient, but the mechanics of the pole are the same. The locking system is hands down the best I've used. The poles have been without problem or complaint while snowshoeing, skiing, backpacking, and day hikes. The weight is good and the locks are set and done once 'set.' I bent one pole slightly by using it as a pry-bar, that was over 100 miles ago and I'm still using it! I burned through three pairs of other poles in one year before I found Black Diamond poles to be the permanent solution. I now laugh at 'twist-locks' and other designs since I purchased these poles! Your only real decision is in choosing which grip and color you prefer.
