Laurel Nelson's Bio

I grew up all over the place, but moving to the Canadian Rockies for high school changed everything. I moved out to Utah seven years ago for school at the University of Utah and after graduating summer of 2011 I started working at Backcountry.com. Snowboarding and whitewater are definitely my passions but I also enjoy biking, hiking, backpacking, and basically anything else active in the mountains.

These are the perfect sandal for longer days on your feet. Most women's sandals really lack support, so a full day on your feet can be rough. These are perfect for sporting events or if I will be standing for more than an hour or so. The cut of the straps is more feminine than your traditional Birkenstock, so they look a bit less hippie and a bit more like normal sandals.

I was looking for a pair of pants to wear with shorter booties without the awkward pant/top of boot interface. I have a fairly long inseam (about 31in) and these hit about 3-4 inches above my ankle bone when they are fully unrolled. The fabric is comfortable, durable-feeling, and it has just enough stretch.

The fit on this is absolutely perfect. It is super flattering and is loose without being baggy. I wish we had more colors in large because I would buy them all. The arm holes are large enough to be comfortable but not too large that you see a bra underneath. The fabric is also super soft. I wish all tanks fit like this!

I love these! I have been wanting a pair of shorter shorts with enough coverage so you don't have cheek showing and these are it. Most shorts tend to be super short or reminiscent of mom jeans. These are right in the middle and feel age-appropriate since I am in my late 20's. They do feel a bit stiff to start but that is to be expected. I wish we had more colors in my size!

I purchased the Succulent Camo and I love the print. For me, the fit was a bit off. They run large and we were out of stock on the size I would need so I just returned these. The length is nice for a more modest short and the material is super soft and comfortable. Great shorts, the sizing was just off for me.

I got these for lounging, working around the house, and for wet wading while fly fishing. They run true to size and are super comfortable. They are a bit shorter, but provide enough coverage to wear in public.

These are a great lounge pant for warmer weather. They are super comfortable, lightweight, and moisture-wicking. The fabric is a bit thin so if you use them for climbing or something where they are pulled very tight against your rear, they become slightly sheer. They are great for lounging, hiking, or casual around town. They fit true to size with a loose fit through the legs and hips.

This thing is awesome for any kind of trip. It is super convenient to charge and bring along. If you are using your phone for pictures or will need additional charging capacity for any devices it is super easy to throw this in a purse or leave it in a car as a backup.

This is my second Ninja Suit. I purchased my first about 5 years ago and I finally started wearing through it. This version is a bit softer than my last one and it still fits true to size. I got the Polar Brotanical print and it looks just like the picture. I wear mine as a baselayer and to lounge around.

I was looking for a stiffer women's boot and was looking at BOA to help with the stiffening. I ended up purchasing this boot and the Burton Felix Boa to see which I liked best. I tend to like a stiffer boot so ended up going with the Felix since it is a bit stiffer. This boot runs true to size and is a great option for a medium-stiff flex women's boot. I wear a 9.5 in boots and I purchased it in that size and it fit perfectly.

I purchased a nicer pair of waders this summer and felt horrible just throwing them in the back of the truck. I came across this bag and you can't beat the price to help protect an expensive pair of waders. Throwing it down while changing makes it easier to change without falling over. The mesh panels help to get air flowing through the bag and it protects your waders from extra wear and tear. Definitely a no-brainer to shell out for a $40 bag to protect $300 waders.

This is like a Leatherman for fun. Speaker, charger, and flashlight this has all you need for camping/biking/pool parties. Outdoor Tech did a good job of packing everything you would need into a small package that travels easily. Sound quality is good and it is great bang for your buck.

I got these for my boyfriend, brother, and my father for Christmas and they all love them. It keeps a beer nice and cold for hours. It is good for a person who likes to take naps, forgets where they put their beer, or who lives in a crazy hot climate.

These are a great option if you are looking for a stiff and responsive boot. They use the speedlace cable with the BOA, so the flex is a bit more natural than the metal BOA cable used on other models. They are super easy to tighten and release and the BOA lets you easily tighten them up as the day goes on. The run a little bit larger than past Burton models. I typically wear a men's 8.5 or women's 9.5/10 and the 9 ended up fitting best for me. Overall these are the most responsive and stiffest women's boot I have found over the last few years.
