LIZ KUZwrote a review of Lange SX 90 Ski Boot - Women's on October 16, 2015
Just to give a heads up before you read this review, I have an extremely small foot that is ridiculously wide (street shoe size 5.5 - 6), so finding the right boot that doesn't require tons of work from a bootfitter is difficult. I'm also 120 lbs for context for my review on flex. I am also an expert skier, I ride pow & eat groomers for breakfast, but I don't send it off cliffs.
Overall the Lange SX 90 fits great. The last is 102 & feels roomy but compared to other brands this could easily be mistaken for a 100 or 101 last. We're talking about mm & a stock liner that could affect this, so whatever, end of day my toes can wiggle & the top of my foot doesn't have any uncomfortable pressure.
Moving on to the flex. A 90 flex in a Lange can easily translate to a 100 or 110 in other brands so be-careful when comparing. I usually go for a lower flex with Lange because nothing is worse than having cramping calfs because you can't power through your turns. If you have more weight to you then I would suggest going up in flex. But for me, this is fine.
The liner feels average, nothing fancy here. It has comfort & fits solid around my ankle in which thats where I always have issues with stock liners. Once they pack out at the end of the season I might need adjustments.
The stock insole feels like it has high arch support, I need medium, but this is an easy thing to replace and probably for the best.
Overall this boot is great for expert skiers.
