I have both the short sleeve and long sleeve version and really like them both. As a layer - they help block the wind and you don't get too hot if you wear the right one. Short sleeve is good for cooler temps in the fall and long sleeve is better when it's colder.
Historically - I've always used Camelbaks for biking. But when I wanted a hydration backpack for hiking - the Osprey Syncro 10 was a better size and had more user friendly pockets for quick access. Very pleased with this purchase.
I used these wool socks on rides in early spring when it was in the 30's at the start. They kept me warm in the AM and not too hot in PM when it warmed up.
This is a great layer for windy days. Just the chest is windproof and not the sleaves as an FYI.
