I gave my Mom a choice between this or the NF Denali and I'm happy I got the Monkey Woman Jacket. It's soft, light and perfect for what I need. It's different enough that I don't look like all the other North Face Denali/Ugg wearing clones running around. I normally wear a medium, but since other reviewers advised that it runs small, I opted for the large. I probably could've worn a medium, but this way I have room to layer with hoddies or sweaters underneath it. I'm 5'7" and 115lbs, it's plenty long enough in the arms, and overall jacket length.
As others have mentioned it's not terribly wind proof, but I don't find it too much of a problem. If it's cold I layer, and I'm fine. It's not like I do manual labor outside, so it fits my needs of running errands or standing around outside of a bar smoking.
I have yet to wash it, so I can't attest to how it holds up after the wash. I have heard that it needs to be "brushed" to keep the "fur" from matting. We'll see how that works.
Overall, if you're looking for a good casual jacket that's soft, comfy and isn't a Denali, this is perfect. I never want to take it off! But I should soon because I need to wash it.
